Roybot, Gregon, can you show me where he said he built his physique working out at home? Or did you just make that up so you have something to bitch about?
His philosophy even references the gym: “Internal motivation is the best: if your motivation is to feel better and have more energy, you will get amazing results on your very first day at the gym, and the positive reinforcement will keep you coming back day after day.”
It’s a site aimed at beginners, and it tells them that they can get started by working out at home. Are you really getting pissed off over this? Frankly, it’s a good idea. If people are interested in learning something before they set foot into a commercial gym, I’m all for it… maybe due to the recent spate of teenage squat rack curlers where I work out. If someone with potential starts these routines, they’ll make progress and be compelled to join a gym when they’re ready to advance.
That said, his barbell row technique does look a little off.
OP - Just a tip that if you legit want to be taken seriously in a given context/e-argument do not use terms like “LOL” when someone is calling you out etc. Just makes you seem less of age or maturity.
Bonez and Hungry4More - I am no where near your size and admit that I always let law school, job, and love for longer distance running to get in the way of seriously gaining size (not an excuse and I am trying to not self rationalize) so take this with the grain of salt I am sure both of you will likely take it with. It is clear that a consistent problem on these threads are caused one of the following or perhaps all.
Some believe that the “bodybuilding forum” should be utilized only for those wanting to get huge. However, I am of the thought that bodybuilding principles can be utilized by all different types. I attribute lifting heavy (proportional to my size, years lifting, etc) to not being totally emaciated from running.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT THIS IS THE PROPER FORUM (it may or may not be) but I think that perhaps there should be more understanding or perhaps a new forum opened up for those wishing to use bodybuilding principles for other goals (Much respect for both of your great physiques and many men and more importantly women will find that combo size and definition nice but I do not ever want to be that big).
This site due to many factors (including marketing, great articles, interesting forums) attracts varied people who have questions that do not fit neatly into the other forums. One of bodybuilding’s best attribute is its varied usefulness.
People who ask questions are way too sensitive. I think in large part that the whole positive reinforcement movement in all aspects of society are creating generations of people that refuse to grow (in all areas), and to take brutal advice when given. Even deconstructive critique is constructive if you are man enough to fix the problem. OPs need to have enough confidence to take and administer helpful advice and move on.
People need to realize that the cost it takes to get optimal size results leads through a road that many simply do not find worth it. Example I refuse to not have “hawt abz,” I refuse to give up running and if this is the case the OP needs to make this clear when asking the question to diminish brash “all or nothing” remarks. I think that is the reason Chris Shugart has a great place on this site even though he has been relegated to the V-Diet section.
Off Topic: Much respect to the Mighty Stu for his recent accomplishments and his ability to give quality advice and critique while walking that fine line of “ass” and “nice guy.” note: this is not a call out as I often fall on the “ass” side of the line in my daily routine.

LMFAO at “making it up”. He says it in one of his vids and it’s plastered all over his site. I’ve already explained how and why his info is not aimed just at beginners. If you’re going to accuse me of unnecessary bitching, then do me the courtesy of reading my posts instead of asking questions that I’ve already provided the answers to.

fail. I mean really look at the join dates.
Damn, you’re right - because it’s impossible for one person to open two separate accounts on two different dates. That told me.
Ya I’d say it did mr internet detective. Your assertion that I made another account for the sole purpose of this thread is pretty retarded when josher joined in 2003 and it is now 2010. i guess I must have traveled back in time to create another profile, just so I could achieve what exactly?

You’ve simply taken his use of the word “advanced” - to label a hyperlink on his site - out of context. Although the radical techniques of “drop sets, heavy lifting and mixing it up” are advanced to you apparently, it isn’t for anyone that has lifted for more than a couple of months. In fact I’d say those are pretty basic concepts meant for beginners as well.

I have to agree that it is pretty retarded, especially when you were the one who made the assertion.
“My assertion”, Mr. Pedantic, was that you’re yet another example of a member who created multiple accounts, for whatever reason, and then disappeared, only to resurface years later. No time machine required.

Oghajosh, you’ve refused to review Scooby’s site properly but persist in arguing about everything and anything else. Somehow you’re also in a position to tell me how to interpret the content of his site without taking the time to look at it…
I took the word “advanced” for what it is: Scooby has an advanced routine so it is intended for advanced trainees (No, I’m not referring to the link to intensity techniques you found in a quick skim over for something to catch me out on, but apparently anybody with a year’s training time qualifies as “advanced” in Scooby’s book - which is why people like you should clue themselves up on his theories before defending them)…
You might serve yourself better in future by reading around a topic before arguing about it. I’m done with you and this thread. Your skull is impenetrable.
