I’ve never seen barbell rows done this way. He says to do reps slow and with full control.
What do you guys think?

I typically do this same form, however grip over instead of under and with around 135lbs(I’d assume he is using such light weight for illustration if that was part of your question). I take it your juxtaposing these to kroc rows? I use both from time to time, but I prefer barbell rows over dumbbell. Sorry if I missed the question.
Did the guy really need 6 minutes to explain how he does a barbell row?
S
Have fun building any kind of strength/size base that way.
SuzieQ should eat his hat
Right after lanky shits cheesesteak in it.
i think the way dorian yates does barbell rows is the only way they should be performed. in my opinion those and hammer strength pull downs are the best exercises you can do for your lats. if your looking for an upper back developer i would personally do dead variations, cable row variation to lower chest, t bar rows, etc, etc. i think CC has a much better understanding of this so he can edit my post if need be.
God I fucking hate that guy.
This guy has a small weak back…so why the fuck would you listen to his advice on a back exercise?
Fucking retards, damn.

First of all, what do you know about my goals? What if my goal is to have a back like his(not saying I do but how the hell would you know that?) are you going to put me down for that too?
you need to chill out buddy. There is no reason for you to get personal and aggressive over such a small thing.
^^ lolz
picking an E argument over this lame video? lolz. If your goal is a back like that guy then maybe not be in the bodybuilding forum.

Okay let me see: I want to build muscle and get bigger while not being fat. Yes I should be in the bodybuilding forum but thanks for the tip.
Weather I want to build a back like his should not matter because everyone’s goals are different(again I’m not saying I want a back like his maybe I do maybe I dont the only thing that should matter is that I want to build muscle). I’m not coming into the bodybuilding forum to preach full body workouts or to say 5 way splits don’t work. I simply asked for people to comment on the way that guy was performing BB rows.
Yea… that was definitely a new one…
I wonder if the floppy fishing hat is mandatory to get the full effect?
At the bottom of his reps, his arms are at about 45degrees from vertical (@3:22), how the hell could you do that with decent weight?
Don’t do them that way, you’ll fuck up your back.

Looks awkward
And another 3:30 minutes of my life wasted! Sheizers…

Then you shouldn’t perform it as shown in the video. It isn’t that hard to grasp the concept of performing a good barbell row with more weight.

You’re genius.
P.S: I never said I was going to perform it like that. If you read the BIG tittle right on top of the first OP it says “Never Seen BB Rows Done This Way”. How does that translate to “I’m going to do barbell rows just like this guy”. I was just curious as to what people thought about it since I’ve never seen it being performed like that.
as far as finishers or pre-exhausting goes I think these are probably the best exercise I’ve found for lats (since I’ve never used one of those pullover machines), though I would probably drop the shoulders a bit lower (as the instructions I read said that the shoulders should be lower than the hips to put the lats in a mechanical disadvantage)
