OP needs to grow some balls (no offense). Your responses to the information experienced trainees are giving you is very telling of where you are mentally.

a yates row isn’t the same as what’s in the first video, although they do both row towards the hips that’s the only similarity.

Seriously?
I posted a video of a guy doing shitty rows and said I’ve never seen anyone do them that way. Some guy calls me a retard and another tries to tell me I can’t grasp the concept of a barbell row.
Notice that I never said I was going to perform the rows from the video and in fact when Jonh8pack gave me his advice(without being an ass hole ) I said “thank you and I won’t”. I’m all for learning from bigger guys but if you think that because you are giving advice you have the right to insult people then that’s fine with me but don’t expect me to not say anything back.
Again for those of you who are going to continue criticizing. I was not planning to do these rows and in fact I have seen this guys videos which are a mix of strange/funny. Again the only reason why I posted the video was to get opinions from other people. Maybe they were a good mass builder and people had videos with better form. Obviously that was not the case but then again that is why is good to ask questions.

I think Bug is referring to the fact you handle ball busting like a butthurt teenage girl who just got her first period.
Dude, we get it, you are not going to do them that way. But good christ relax man. NO need to tweek out every time someone busts your nuts a little.

You are catching shit because most of us can’t understand how someone even half way serious could view that video and not think it was a complete waste of time if not a fucking joke. If you can’t readily tell who to listen to even as a beginner, you will likely simply fall into some other BS facet of weight lifting very soon anyway.
Even as a beginner, the most I would have given that vid is about 10 seconds before I started laughing and turned it off. You on the other hand thought it was valid.
Why?
How old are you?
How long have you been lifting?
How much do you weigh?
How tall are you?

More importantly:
Why are you wasting your time watching shit like this, let alone posting a thread about it?
You could have spent that time:
A)lifting
B)eating
or C) taking a damn nap
D) And just sit back and read the interesting stuff on this board.
There is ton of information on here.
Can’t watch a man bent over in his back yard shirtless wearing that hat.

I try different stuff at the gym and if they don’t work I don’t use them.
Bodybuilding type training only a few months.
I weight about 175 at the moment and was 180 before I got a hernia at my job and had to stop working our hard for a while. I’m now recovering from the injury and should be back to 100% in a few weeks.
I’m about 5’11.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I should be back soon. Can’t wait to squat and dead-lift again.
I suppose Ronnie Coleman and Dorian Yates didn’t train their backs correctly.
OHHH! SHIT. Now you got our resident Big Nasty pissed off. Whatchout noaw

awesome
I see the instructors at my gym teach newbies to BB row that exact same way. If I gave a shit I would either wince or burst out laughing. Shocking shocking form, someone mentioned earlier on that it is almost a Pendlay row. This is correct and you dont want to be doing rows like that before at least strengthening your lower back muscles.
a link to this dude’s youtube channel would be much appreciated.

I’m confused as to why everyone has their panties in a bunch here. Please somebody explain the proper way of doing a barbell row.
I’m confused if this is not the right way and if this is not almost exactly what scooby doo was doing.
Besides advocating a his personal preference on rep scheme and low weight I’m lost to why scooby do or op has been flamed here. Sure low weight is going to be flamed… its a bodybuilding forum, guys are lifting heavy and getting big; but I didn’t see anything craaaazy with his form.

that is not what ol’ scoobs was doing. lol
your vid had the guy’s back in a hell of a lot safer position imo than the op.
