I’ve seen some crazy squats at my gym and nothing beats seeing our top 77kg lifter squat. He squats up to 205kg for a single and its all explosive and amazingly fast. As our best 94kg lifter said “when I first came here and saw all those plates on the bar, I was wondering who the hell would be using that kind of weight, and up walks Rito (the 77 lifter) and he blew me away! He was using the same weight, if not more then me and doing it easier then me at 20kg less!”
You want crazy, I’ve seen Matt Rue, a 105+ who snatched 160 and jerked 185 @ the FDU Open I was at, I was training at his place and saw him back squat 240 for triples like cake! Like lightening!

Its been 40 days since beginning my quest for a 100 kg snatch.
I learned the basic snatching technique,I incorporated specific assistance exercises and I am now slowly incorporating a lifting system.
I snatched 65 kg legit.
Its 35 kg to go.I feel tough and ready.
Oly lifters in my gym are telling me that its going to take me 2-3 years to build up from 65 kg to 100 kg.

I am Balbos and I am progressing very fast.
2 days ago I PRed 60 kg and today its 65 kg.
During winter holidays I partied too much and lost 5 days in the last 5 days,but managed to master basic snatch technique.
Nobody trains like me.
I pile on weights and lift it no matter what.
I train while sleep deprived,I train after rough drinking,I train tired and I train hungry.
Nobody outtrains me!
My best training was when I had no money to go partying and coudnt afford decent diet.
So I just paid gym dues and trained like demon.
I the coldest December days,my buddy and me would go out in the park and did sparring and focus mitts work followed with endless 5 kg medicine ball throwing.Our sessions sometimes lasted 3-4 hours.Then dranked some rum to warm-up ha ha ha!
This heavy snatching is causing some rough soreness in my low back muscles and traps.
I am tearing some skin on my hands and this shitty thumb grip is very painful.
I guess life is pain ha ha ha!!!
One guy wrecked 3 discs in his low spine due to Oly lifts and he only managed to get 90 kg snatch.I said my goal is clear—snatch 100 kg or die. No third way here.
I am starting to do heavy snatch pulls.
Also I am doing more and more Overhead squats(quarter squats at this point ha ha ha!!! poor hip mobility).
But the biggest pain in the ass is static stretching and dynamic mobility drills that need to be performed twice a day.I usually do that only before going to bed.
I lately played some pick-up basketball.
I felt very light on my feet and springy.So I checked my vert jumping on the rim.
I got about 2 inches higher.Very nice side effect of my oly lifts.
I can power clean 100 kg easily.
I jerk 90 kg.A little extra work on my jerk and its 100 kg c& j!
But I have to be careful not to slow my snatch progress with c&j training.
Snatch is number one priority now.
I feel that my technique is really solid.
I set up very good and I dont pull with my arms to early like befoer.I do hip snap at exact time when the barbell get to my hips.
I now need to go under the barbell quicker and deeper.
And I need more power in my hips.
I am now 86 kg.When I snatch my bodyweight,I am putting a video in this thread and I am also going to drank a bottle of Absolut!

Yeah, dont believe that. Concentrate in your overhead squat, its the weakest part for beginners, but its just a matter of getting used to it, you get better at it when you put more plates in the bar. I have this same 100 kg goal for the summer, but now I decided not to do snatch at all for a few months, I dont feel I get enought out of them. Instead I do lots of cleans, powercleans and overhead squats. At the point when I easily powerclean and overhead squat 100 kilos I believe I`m ready for a 100 kg snatch.
