My Quest For a 100kg Snatch

another dimas shot, this time with him doing his famous look to the side

Isaac Berger, one of America’s best lifters ever, in the 62kg class.

So is this ass to calves? I mean, technically, there’s some space left, but I don’t think he can genetically squat lower. Femur’s not long enough.

I ask because I squat similarly.

thats ass to calves for him. Every person has a different depth that they can achieve genetically speaking

nah he could way lower by angling his shins further over his knees.

looks like 250kg+ on the bar[/quote]

Look at the bar bending.
I like the moustache.

Very strong!

LOL at someone questioning Chakarov’s depth…

not “questioning his depth” the poster before claimed that “genetically he couldn’t squat lower” which is false. he still lifted alot of weight.

His knees travelling further over his toes wouldn’t suddenly permit his glutes to pass through his calves.

agreed. but it would allow him to get lower in the squat position

Good oul T-Nation, where not even Chakarov is beyond criticism.

Look, Chakarov back squatted to that depth.

Do you squat lower? Doubt it. Chakarov was one of the best lifters until he got injured. Chakarov was a 91kg lifter… back squatting 270kg for doubles… a week out from the World Championships.

do you contest reza’s depth? No. You just look at the insane weight he does. He is going low enough. thats all

i was talking about squat clean, not back squat - guess i didnt read the post closely enough.

either way, i couldnt care less how deep he goes in the back squat or the squat clean - all that matters is the weight he lifts.

regarding the squat clean - all i was trying to say is that there are lifters who do not drop as low as they physically can to catch, as pulling the bar a few inches higher is easier for some than getting out of the insanely low position you see in the video i posted.

yeah, but also most guys use the stretch reflex to get out of the bottom, as well as the bar bouncing. Don’t really see why some people sit in the bottom so long :-/

when you coming to lbh next romanz?

Yeah, but that not that harsh…I remember a record breaker of most chins in 12 hours being critisized in his own thread.People giving him advice against his own routine of how to make more chins and some even posted that he doesnt know nothing about strength-endurance.LOL.

Yesterday,I warmed-up and started power cleans for a triple adding weight each set.
200 lb.(90 kg) for a triple felt easy.
Cleaned 95 kg for a single.
Loaded 100 kg…long concentration…cleaned it also.

I did a few singles with 100 kg.

Then I procedeed to do jump squats for building spring in my legs. Then I did back squats 8 sets with 120 kg for triples.

Evenings yesterdays session

Paid former Oly lifter for an hour of coaching.VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY GOOD INVESTMENT.
I discovered many flaws. We worked on power clean technique.

My mistakes-

1.set-up…shoulders must be over the bar …legs more straight

2.full hip extension on second pull is lacking

3.bar should travel closer to the body

4.going on my toes and more trap pull is needed

5.when I catch the bar on my shoulders, the body weight should be on my heels, not toes

6.elbows in the catch position should be more high

i don’t know, from dec 19 to jan 1st, I need a place to train while FDU is closed, so I might be making some trips down to LBH if I can =D I really want to get at least one training session in down there, I love the feeling of LBH
