Kelly Baggett's New Speed Manual
jtrinsey wrote:

There you go again. Reread what I wrote. I said “if you think it’s common”
I just said that a 300 pound bench is not “the world”, meaning that it’s not ridiculously rare to see a high school kid bench 300 pounds.
I agree that a 300 pound bench is not the world. But, that’s not really the topic or what I’m questioning regarding “Trucks” post.

It’s a kid going from benching 135 to 300 in 18 mo. and at the same time increasing his speed by a great amount.

And I maintain that that’s a rare event under normal circumstances.

In fact, I think Kelly said it best above:

How many times do teens get that sort of training and then actually follow it when they are fortunate enough to get it?

Out of 100 teens how many get all of the numbers regarding strength and speed like the above?

If it happened as Truck states in his post, it is the exception.

Hold on let me check…okay…I checked. It means you’re an ass kisser.

Read up on Nate Green he made ridiculous gains all around and he’s a youngin’!

I just wanted to hop on the bandwagon and say thanks to Kelly. Your training guidelines are awesome and are a part of my everyday training. I can’t speak highly enough of how good his stuff is.

And how cool is it he takes time out of his day to post here? Thanks

Nick
I’ll second all that, I recently discovered Kelly’s stuff and am learning a lot from just his free articles, and will probably pickup his book soon. I appreciate your time here, coach.
Edders wrote:

… proving the point that Kelly is an excellent coach. Glad we could settle that matter. Enough hijacking.

Hey, you wanted to know who kelly trained and you got a testimonial. you can also read them on his site.

So why the attitude?

He’s a popular guy who has helped many poeple on this site and is respected by many of the authors on this site so what else do you need. His site has a ton of great information which I believe any author here or famous strength coach would have a tough time arguing against. His work is based on sound principles. He’s not an internet guru who has never spent time “under the bar” or “in the air” as his case may be. He’s not a yoda.

Chill out brother

If Trucks comments are real then I totally agree with you.

Actually, I was just over there and was very impressed with his site.

You are mistaken. I displayed no attitude toward Kelly. I only displayed an attitude toward a few Internet tard boys who felt (needlessly) to defend someone who was in no way under attack. I only wanted ask a question or two.

Keep in mind it’s okay to ask questions about Kelly, or anyone else who is attempting to sell a product. If you don’t ask questions how can you learn?

Even if you’re his number one “fan boy” keep in mind that he’s not as well known as some of the other Coaches affiliated with T-Nation, at least not by me.

You see, that’s the part I didn’t know. How was I to know that? Now that I know that I am better for it. And now that you know that’s it’s okay to ask questions when you don’t yet have answers you won’t jump the gun and accuse people of things that they didn’t do. Now I know it’s the Internet and it’s your right to act impulsively, but that doesn’t mean that you are even close to being right.

The next time don’t assume that someone is necessarily taking sides, or attacking one of your favorites simply because they need more info.

So we’ve both learned something huh?

Hey, no hard feelings on my part, have a good one.

Bottom Line is Kelly writes good stuff. I learned new things in his VJ book and I think the guy knows his stuff. I can’t say I followed his jumping manual to a T cause I didn’t want to get better at jumping. I have used many of the principles kelly talks about for hand speed and they work.

If you honestly can’t pick up on the attitude that is in your posts… maybe you need to reread a few of them because you come off as an asshole.

And you come off as a teen fanboy wannabe…You see how contrary Internet posts can make us look?

Nothing like some know it all asshat who’s been a member for a whopping 2 weeks coming on here insulting people. Shouldn’t you be off teaching Matt K. how to properly do 175 lb. dumbbell rows?

Please, show me where I have kissed anyone’s ass. In fact, I asked a question about his books because I don’t know much about him. What I do know however, is that he is a respected coach and you’re nobody to come here and start insulting everyone.
Edders wrote:

my man,
why don’t you look up Kelly’s posts on this site and see what kind of responses he gives. This might give you an idea of what kind of knowledge base/teaching ability he has.
panther2k wrote:

I have an idea, why don’t you scroll back and see who started the insults. I merely asked a question and fanboys like you tried to pile on.

And you continue to keep it going, thinking somehow that your sophomoric posts are somehow supposed to silence me.

Pay attention: When I don’t know something or have never heard of someone I ask questions.

That’s what I did here, that it bothers you is funny stuff.

Keep posting.

Good advice. And in fact I visited his site and was impressed with the wealth of information that I found. Up to that point I didn’t know Kelly Baggett from a bag of Baggetts…um…oh well you get my drift.

It’s no longer about me asking a civil question and Kelly answering it in a professional manner (which he did). You might want to scroll back to see that part.

This is the part of the thread where 2 or 3 misguided teen fanboys grab hold of an illogical premise and attempt to beat it to death with inane post after inane post.

And then it’s my job to regularly point out their idiocy while laughing heartily. And then…oh just stick around and watch for yourself.

Okay, I took a look at this thread to see what all the commotion was about. And I’m not getting it.

Here is what Edders asked:

Not trying to “bag” on Baggett, but how many world class sprinters has he trained?

For that matter how many State champion sprinters has he trained?

Who are they?
The following was Baggett’s response:
Kelly Baggett

No world class sprinters.

Truthfully though world class or even state champion sprinter would be great athletes regardles of what they did…(which is why the former state champ sprinter I’m currently training can gain 10 pounds of muscle and lose 5 pounds of fat in 2 months and make my “physique augmentation” training look uber guru extraordinaire.)

The large majority of the athletic population is made up of average Joe’s. Let’s talk about average guys who want to make something out of theirselves and don’t have the benefit of being hand held through the process…now we got something to talk about
It seems that these two guys were pretty much having a mature discussion. I think maybe the rest of you should get busy with something else that’s more productive.

If you don’t think that people have a right to ask questions about products before they buy them, or the people who created those products then I don’t know what world you’re living in.

Baggett might be the best sprint coach alive but that doesn’t mean he gets a free pass when asked a couple of questions. And to his credit he seemed to answer the question.

GM is I think the biggest auto dealer in the world and very well known. Does that mean that no one is allowed to ask the top guy if he has any current cars that have won any big races?

This is pretty much a non-issue.

Who started the insults? I believe that would be you. Apparently, I misinterpreted one of your posts which I have already acknowledged.
panther2k wrote:

Glad to see you’re still posting. Let’s take a logical look at this latest nonsense and see where it leads.

This was your very first post to me on this thread:

Apparently you posted the above because of your (now well known) reading comprehension problems. But, still it was a nasty attack and for no reason. That means that you started the insults and that you are now lying claiming that I did…You know this now right? Come on, make some sense for once and see this.

When I responded in kind you sent this little gem:

Apparently it’s okay to misinterpret someone’s meaning and attack them. But a person has “issues” if he defends that attack.

Your next volley basically was calling me
“retarded.”
Does any of this help your memory? I have a suggestion for you that you will absolutely not be smart enough to take. Stop posting on this thread while you are way, way behind and only looking like a foolish teen fanboy with no point. Or, you could apologize and we could move on. No…you won’t do that either will you?

Ha
