How Do You Guys Zap a Cold at First Sign?

So I wake up today, kinda feeling “off” and continue to go in for a workout, work my ass off, but notice my body is just gassing out pretty fast. Had that gross kind of feeling right between the back of the nose and top of the throat, very slightly ache-y, and very slight signs of sweating while doing nothing.

What pisses me off is that I had something similar just two fucking weeks ago with very low grade fever, slight body aches, and sore throat…and now this…just when I thought I was back in it and getting in the groove again in the gym.

Anyway…what do you guys do/take to help combat the early onset signs of a cold/sickness? I have been taking 4000 IU Vitamin D3 w/ Calcium for about a month and a half now, in addition to my Flameout, Juice Plus+, and ZMA at night (of course with proper eating)…WTF gives?!?

I eat a whole lemon, peel and everything.

If I feel the slightest onset of a cold or sickness I’ll eat 5 large, raw cloves or garlic and suck on zinc lozenges the whole day. Garlic is a very powerful antibiotic and has been known to be effective againt many pathogens.

lots of Airborn and a ton of green tea

4 bags per cup of tea, 4-5 x per day

and dayquil seems to do the trick

A Huge mug of Mint tea and like the guy above me said a entire lemon squeezed in. Also for good measure a shot(just a shot) of white rum mixed in. Best taken before bed. I usually feel like a million bucks after my nights sleep.

wrap yourself up in warm blankets when you go to sleep. It’ll be uncomfortable and you’ll sweat like a pig, but I’ve broken fevers in one day doing this. This and a lot of water.

Foam Roll

Hot tea+lemon , lots of it . No working out ! Chill at home in warmth until symptoms will go away .

i tell my immune system to man the fuck up…seriously, it works too.

A good run seems to help me sweat out the worst of it, plus it helps beak up the congestion. Or maybe not, but I always feel better afterwards.

I keep eating healthy and take cold meds, usually only last 2 days then it dies.

Three Emergency Vitamin C packets, a scoop or two of glutamine, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and as much cayenne pepper as you can take.

Haven’t been sick in years.

gypsy tears and the first period blood of young girls.

My mother swears by warm home-made ginger tea.

Take ginger (raw) and slice into quarter inch slices. Place in a pot with some water and bring to a boil. Put a lid on it, turn down the heat and let it simmer for a few hours. Stir in some honey right before drinking.

She also used to pour boiling water into a cup with 1 crushed garlic clove and some bullion for some quick garlic soup.

jager…preferably ice cold. drink the whole bottle, you’ll sleep like the dead and wake up feeling much better

Because he is starving, and the camera is amazingly similar looking to a ribeye steak.

nyquil to sleep, and orange juice

Stuffy nose = train

Load up on Vitamin C and Dayquil (I enjoy caffeine when the mucus is going good too.) Stay away from milk.

Flu = stay home

Do whatever you have to to survive.

I read somewhere once (Death by Diet) that viruses cannot survive in an pH+ environment… those suggesting lemon are spot on. As it breaks down, it raises your body’s pH and prevents viruses from spreading. I prefer lime, though, as I’ve heard it’s effect is stronger, and I think it tastes better. I drink .5-1 liter of water every day with at least 1 lime sliced and juiced into it.

haven’t been “sick” in 7 years, and I work in a pharmacy. exposed to all kinds of nasty shit.
