Yeah, and I feel like an asshole for contributing to the bullshit…

Sorry guys.
At least you manned up. And unlike others I have seen, didn’t carry the bullshit to other threads.
I responded over there to sliver, who is a smart kid let me tell ya… I don’t understand half of what he say 3 quarters of the time.
I saw. LOL

ugh wtf…anyways swear some people just have no lives but just enjoy going on the internet and riling people up.

I remember the first time I did it felt like my feet were sinking into the floor.
405 isnt too bad.
The next plate is a bitch though.

What are you talking about Countingbeans? Every thread you post on turns to shit. It’s a bit late to start apologizing! You have nearly 5000 posts which are pointless and offer no advice. I’m just enlightening the newer members that you have no idea what you are talking about. The newer members will see 5000 posts and a video of you pulling 500 pounds and think “This guy knows his shit. I’ll take advice from him.” Then they go out load the bar up and fuck their backs or never progress because they are taking advice from someone who has no idea what he is talking about.

I was on this site years before you were and have noticed it’s people like you who have ruined what was once a great site. I have seen your kind come and go many times. I don’t post very often because when you’re sitting in front of your computer all day trying to help your self esteem, I’m in the gym or behind a prowler getting the most out of myself.

To the original poster, keep up the assistance work for your deadlift. Incorporate exercises such as good mornings, kroc rows and as I said earlier ensure your grip strength is increased. Always remain focussed on correct technique. There no point pulling a personal best and screwing your back in the process and being out of action. No one gets stronger out of the gym recovering from injuries.

I recall this post “turning to shit” on your own accord. Saying absurd things such as, “Your 405 pull is probably twice as heavy as the majority of people handing out advice here.” (With no pictures of yourself) AND I remember the same thing happening on the Cell Phone Avatar thread, you blatantly attacking CB.

Pictures, or your physique of 107kg, 6’2", 7%bf, never happened. I at least put a picture up, even if I am small and I still give advice.

Anyways… I’m close to the 405 landmark, gonna try for it here in a week or so. Congrats OP and everyone else, sorry for the hijack.

SIGH. YOU GUYZZZ Why can’t we all be happy-happy and be friends? We can all be “e-friends”!

Anyways, this thread is inspiring me to go into hardcore dl mode now. It kinda fell by the wayside in terms of priorities once I hit 4 plates.

Can this be the happy-shiny more easily attainable “Road to 405” thread?

/copious idealism and naivety

What Ninny said, and apologies for any derailment my comment caused.

It is actually really motivating that there are quite a few guys in here hitting 400 (180kg). IRL I know two people who deadlift more than me, so this thread is a good reality check.

Yeah being that Corpus Christi, Tx is probably the dregs of health and fitness in the US seeing what other people in other places are doing is about all I can do to keep myself motivated to keep improving. Ive seen one guy at the Gold’s here legitimately pull more than I can (thats not to say that other guys couldnt, they just dont ever do deadlift), and I dont pull that much. So reading/watching guys on here pulling 500, 550, 600 is part of what helps keep my ego in check.

I hate to contribute to this crap, but bundy, I don’t even know you and you come across as a complete troll. countingbeans manned up and apologized for his behavior, yet you keep on with the attacks and middle school behavior. You have no pics, the only positive thing I saw you contribute to this thread is to tell the OP to work on his grip strength (which I agree with, BTW) and you have no pics whatsoever, that I can see or have found to back up your claims and boasting. The only thing I can think is you have some type of unnatural infatuation with countingbeans and/or get off by harassing people. Please do us all a favor and keep whatever personal thing you have against countingbeans out of other people’s threads. It’s unbecoming and extremely annoying.

Good mornings would be a good idea I think. I raised my deadlift from 335x1 to 375x5 on the Bill Starr 5x5, but I added good mornings, right after deadlifts. I really feel like the good mornings helped me. I have heard a lot of people say to keep them at 8 reps, but I like heavy 5 rep sets, which for me is like 3x5x205.

Point taken. Please don’t join in the wanting photo thing. The reason I don’t agree with this is that half the photo’s used in profiles/avatars don’t belong to the members. Do you know how easy it is to get a photo from another site? My point is that you shouldn’t judge someone by their photos as it may not even be them. I’ll guarantee you beans doesn’t know what he’s on about. I’ll leave it at that.

Thank you and I also understand your point about posting photos as that is one reason i never posted pics anywhere online initially.

Each to their own. I usually go light on the good morning and focus on technique however I have no problem with people going heavy. Remember this is an assistance exercise and not a main lift. These will also help with improving the squat.

wow this thread turned into a giant bitch fest real quick.

I like doing them heavy because they feel like they are working the shit out of my back, I hadn’t done them in a month and I just did them two days ago and my lower back is still sore as anything lol. And the whole thing about not posting pictures because other people fake them just sounds stupid, 99% of the people are probably not faking.

405 is no joke. Nice job.

I remember pulling 405, was just an awesome feeling! Then my buddy one up’d me and got 410, so i got 415, then we both ended up barely getting 420 and called it.
Mr.Melin wrote:
Maybe this should be in another forum, but since I train with size as my primary goal I put it here.

So, today I hit 4 plates on the deadlift for the first time - that felt effin’ AWESOME! I know it ain’t much compared to some on this site, but it’s ~60 lbs more than last may, so I’m pretty happy about it.

Does anyone else remember what it felt like to hit four a side for the first time?
good job, I’m just 35lbs away from 4 plates. I will hit it, by the summer
i work out wrote:
Congrats OP. Not many people in MOST gyms around hit 4 plates.

I pulled 4 plates myself for the first time about 1 month ago. Yes lots of people seem to be at this weight after reading the thread. Keep pulling guys (and gals).
correction, most people in most gyms don’t dead lift.
