Hit 4 Plates Today

Maybe this should be in another forum, but since I train with size as my primary goal I put it here.

So, today I hit 4 plates on the deadlift for the first time - that felt effin’ AWESOME! I know it ain’t much compared to some on this site, but it’s ~60 lbs more than last may, so I’m pretty happy about it.

Does anyone else remember what it felt like to hit four a side for the first time?

I do actually.

Good times, grip and rip.

Congratulations.

Yep…did it back in December. It’s one of those confidence boosters!

Congratulations. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Your four plates is probably twice as heavy as the majority of people handing out advice here!

Indeed it is, and I actually felt like I could have gotten perhaps 5 or 10 lbs more.

Thank you very much.

congrats man. i just recently acheived the same thing. never really did much DL until about 4 months ago. i’ve been training for a DL competition that’s coming up in april. started at 365 as my PR. when i pulled that 4th plate…my CNS was blasted…what a rush.

I was going to come in and compliment you on what I thought was 4 plates total, thinking I’d have to show some jerks some manners for mocking you for doing 225, but I was wrong.
Well done!

You win sir. Is that comparable to your squat??

I tried to pull 505lb yesterday [hadn’t done DL in about a million years] and failed massively. bar looked sweet tho loaded out to the end [mostly bumpers. if you cant be strong then look strong by using mostly 15kg plates]

And yet you complain that we ask for pictures of people giving advice…

Congrats OP, 405 was pretty flipping exciting.

Man, I can remember the details of every gym milestone… Hell, I remember the first time I was able to put 2 plates on a side for the bench! I thought I had finally crossed the threshold into serious gym-rat-dom

Kind of a shot to the gonads as I’m inches from locking out 2 plates on bench lol. I’ll remember this next time I go for it Stu, you’re the man.

Just the other day I pulled 3 plates on each side and it felt great so I bet you’re feeling pretty good OP. Congrats!

i remember when i did it; it felt so good. congrats.

Congrats, on to 5!

good job OP! I pulled 4 plates for the first time two weeks ago. I wanted to post something about it but never did… Its a pretty awesome feeling! Keep up the good work!

Sadly, no. It’s been a long time since I maxed on squat, but I wouldn’t even estimate it to be three plates, probably more in the vicinity of 250. My lousy excuse, long femurs (22 in.). I am hoping to hit the, less than prestigious, 2-3-4 club before fall - only need the squat brought up.

Grats OP. You’ve got me psyched up enough that I’m gonna go do this Monday just because of this thread. Will post vid.

This will be a PR since my hip surgery. I hit it once before then, and I’ve repped 375x5 not too long ago, so I expect I can do it just fine.

Congrats!! It is a good feeling! Now make it warm up weight!

I hit this PR about a year ago after separating my shoulder in order to cheer me up (I was unable to do any upper body lifting).

It did cheer me up at the time lol congratulations on the lift.

You’ll own it, you’ve got 1 rep on me at 375 and I’ve managed a 400 pull. Definitely wasn’t pretty

There’s a lot of guys here just breaking the 400 barrier, it’ll be good to see how everyone progresses.
