I had an odd thing happen yesterday. It’ deload week and my plan looked like this.
Warm-up: complexes w/ 75lb
Bench press: 3x5
Shrugs + grip work
Doing power cleans my hand started hurting and was really tight, it felt like a cramp so I rubbed some liniment on it until my hand relaxed. The pain disappeared.
I moved on to bench work and in the third set the same thing happened. The hand cramped up blah blah blah. No problem with shrugs. When It comes to grip work I do a 2-inch deadlift with the wieght(from pins) behind me and hold for 10s, the wieght I can hold for 5s is what I consider “max” the funny thing was I thought I would have to go lighter but I actually had 20lb increase in what I could hold!
My hand is a little sore between the thumb,index, and middle finger. Does this mean I should work more on wrist flexion? grip strength? or what?
