Press- worked up to 145x9, 95x10 x3 Pronated Chin- 40 reps in under 10 minutes (8:40) Pushdown- 150x15x2
Chins were much harder than last time, but I still got it done. Looking back, I did them on Friday and again on Monday so it makes sense that they were rough today.
Going to start training my squat with a (somewhat) local strongman in a few weeks once he’s cleared by his doc to start lifting again after surgery. I’m excited for this as I haven’t had anyone who knows what to look for watching me squat on a regular basis in a long time and I think that is probably the source of some of my issues.
Looks like my post from last night never went through. Here’s what I did:
Pause Squat- worked up to 225x3 x5 Back XT- bar x15x 2 Leg Raise- 10 x3 Woodchopper- 25x15 x2
After talking to a couple of friends about the issues with my squat, I’ve come to the conclusion that my main issue is my technique. I have been training alone for the better part of a year now and between my own laziness and not having outside eyes coaching my lifts, my form has really suffered. Took 50% of my max and did some pause squats and really worked my technique. I feel better about it and hopefully things will start turning around rather quickly now.
Box Squat- worked up to 225+average bands for five doubles Conventional Deadlift- worked up to 315x1 x4 GHR- 10 x3 Ab Fallout- 15 x2
This cold weather is wearing me out so I cut the squatting a little short. I am reminded why I prefer squatting with chains and will be going back to those next week.
Trained at Gorilla Pit Strength Sports in Mentor, Ohio. If anyone is in Northern Ohio and wants to get strong, this is the place to be. Definitely worth checking out.
Not bad for traveling at all. At least you didn’t try to deadlift with 4 hours of sleep after a 10 hour trip. That’s something an idiot would try to do.

Only if you had a bad workout. If it goes well, then its brilliant
Tonight:
Squat- worked up to 345x6 Good Morning, Close Stance- 135x10 x5 *beltless Leg Raise- 10 x3
Just a belt on the squats, which makes them “rawer” (rawr?) than the last time I was in this territory. It feels like a long ways off right now, but I’m going to hit a 500 squat this year for sure. Slowly but surely getting things back together…

fuck yeah on the squats, son!!
keep fixin ur hips and you’ll get there in no time!
I hope so! I honestly feel like I have the strength and muscle mass there to move the weights I’m wanting to, but my technique and injuries are holding me back.
No training today. Just work, foam rolling, and Meshuggah.
Bench- worked up to 245x10 easy, with abs Pronated Chin- 50 reps in 10 minutes Dips- 50 reps
Realized I had gotten my weights mixed up so I’m having to re-do a couple of sessions to get everything lined up like normal. No big deal, my bench has been moving steadily for over 6 months now so back tracking a little is probably not a bad idea.
We’re having snow here in SC right now, and 2 inches shuts everything down. Because of this, I may or may not be heading to Spud’s tomorrow to do my box squatting.

What good are all those ridiculous hillbilly trucks you southerners drive if you can’t even handle an inch or two of snow?
My truck has very little trouble besides for the occasional fishtailing. I’m not worried about getting around in it myself, it’s the other 10,000 idiots who don’t realize that slamming on your breaks on icy roads is a bad idea.
