The Sum of 1

Charles Poliquin says you are the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with.

I’ve been spending too much time with unmotivated, untrained and worst of all uneducated people when it comes to lifting. Guys from work have been going to the gym at lunch and their lazy unmotivated attitudes have worn off on me.

Haven’t been around here much lately to get my boost of motivation so I’m back with a new log, new attitude and membership to Planet Fatness! Yea that’s right I’m going to make that gym look good. $10 a month and free pizza, how can you not go there. Honestly, it’s 5 minutes from work and I can lift there 2 days a week which frees up 2 nights with the family and hopefully prowler time.

Starting today, I’m the sum of 1, me. No one else can motivate me, no one else can reach my goals and no one else is going to train for me.

I missed you guys.

You complete me and I complete you dday.

Now stop fucking around and lift heavy shit.

Dday re-lit !

Missed you too

I’m in, Dday - now git off that lazy arse of yours and freaking lift some weights!

Thanks guys. Finally admitted to myself I’ve been being kind of bitch in the gym lately and it’s done me no favors. Refocused and ready to lift something heavy.

PS. I’m growing the beard back.

THIS!

beard powah~

I know what you mean, I just reenergized my lifting these last few days with a new (old) program that shakes up the variables. Wendler I had been doing for 3.5 months and I stagnated, so maybe a shake up is good for the duration of it. (and at some future time take another crack at Wendler)

Yep, ran 5/3/1 for a long time off an on and just got burnt out. Doing another program G1 wrote starting tonight and can’t wait. Thanks.

Good your back.

Now get to lifting and bring some respect to Planet Fitness!!! Quietly of course…

Let us know the looks on their faces when you ask “Where’s the power rack?”

Planet Fitness whore…

don’t say either of those comments, the lunk alarm will go off.

Fischer- I’m gonna try. We’ll see how they like the bands and DB handles tomorrow.

Cav- Yea, no power rack, thankfully I have one at home and will do the big lifts there. They did laugh when I asked when is pizza day.

BD- yes…yes I am.

Deadkong- they make it pretty impossible to set that damn thing off. No barbells and the DB’s only go to 75lbs. Luckily the days I go there I don’t need barbells and the machines are a nice change of pace.

Effort +1 results=quality.

Warm up/foam roller/shoulder mobility

Paused box squats
45x5 95x5 135x5 185x5 225x5

Squats
275x5 295x4(can’t count) 315x3

Good mornings
185 3x8

BSS
20’s 3x5(per leg)

Combo
Walking lunges 20’s 3x10
hip thrusters 135x12
shrugs 225 3x8

Went pretty well and I can honestly say I gave 100% of what I had.
Couldn’t dial in my squat form, it’s been wonkey lately and I called the last set due to shit form. It was a good first day really back after it.

FUCK YES…It is now your duty to set off the lunk alarm…do us proud!

No…barbells?

Like, at all?

It’s enough to make a guy throw a trash can at the mirror…

Matty- I’m working on it.

DaCharmingAlbino- Hahaha, I think about that guy every time I walk in. It works for me, the only chest exercise I can do is incline DB bench. The lifts that really matter to me (squat, deadlift) I do at home.

Just call him the Bus driver because he is taking everyone to school!

Sometimes I will just call the nearest Power lifting gym and jumpin with them on a heavy bench day just to be humbled and motivated. It normally lasts for about 6-8 weeks…

That’s a darn good idea. In my case I could go to a high school gym and get humbled
