Deadlift 275 x 5 x 5

Been awhile for actual Deads. Kinda banged up from workouts earlier in the week.
Wanted to get into a groove with the DL before starting 5-3-1 felt good.

Going to do the 8x8 before 5-3-1. I’m working the next 5 days on set.
And my son has a project he is working on for saturday & sunday. not
sure when i’ll see the gym again for nearly a week.

Leg Curls 100 x 5 x 10
BB Curls 135 x 2 x 5 145 x 5
DB curls 45 x 3 x 8

First time with reg. olympic bar for awhile.
Using the safty bar really seemed to benefit.
Got into another high rep squat dual with my
feisty training buddy. She did 185 x 20.

DB Latrerals 35 x 3 x 8
Tri PD 100 x 4 x 8

Got up to do the Old Chuck Sipes Ab work out this morning.
Not really a good idea after Deadlifting.

Took inventory of my body. Found myself rather sore and went
back to bed! LOL

Called it a day. A little off today. been working a lot
the last few days. But still happy overall.

Yea, the high rep squats are catching on. 215x20 is very nice!

Yeah I have always loved em. The guy who taught me how to lift was one
of those 20 rep Squats with deep barbell pullover advocates.

I’m going to cycle them until they stop feeling so good… I’m really happy with my workouts now
so i’m going to keeep going for awhile with what i’m doing. I’m doing a workout
that I did when i was in my late teens early 20’s. I’m enjoying it and
I feel great. It’s a hodge-podge of routines from Ironman mag when it
was really Iron Man.

I’m gonna do the 5-3-1 at some point. Kinda doing it now I guess.
But I want to follow it to the letter when I have the time.

I still have a couple issues of those old Ironman mags. Back then they had more articles than ads and really tried to be serious. My only complaint was that the articles tended to be pretty haphazard - one would endorse vegetarianism, the next one recommended lots of meat eating, that sort of thing.

Yeah Iron Man was interesting. A wide variety of articles that didn’t subsribe to just
one way of training. Thats why i liked it. the weider mags were full of the genetic
gifted guys (with some help LOL) Iron Man did also. but it seemed like there was a ton of
stuff for guys that didn’t have the gift. Wide varity of Authors.

The new version uuuhhh not so much. LOL

Oh, don’t get me started on the new mags, they’re all the same. Ads, ads, ads, ads, and more ads, then something of an article which shows off some superstar builder but has no info. I can’t even read them anymore. Powerlifting USA is reasonable. Do they still make Milo?

They do. I had a sunscription for years. but it got very expensive so I had
to let it go. It’s hard to justify paying that kind of money with little kids.
