Damn good job big C. I see what you mean by being a bit flattened, but it’s to be expected, and you should be a beast once again after your carb up buddy. I think given that, you look damn good and are about where I expected you’d be overall.
Really like the delt striations big guy! Anybody else see that? That first pic really shows them nicely. I see you didn’t capture a front or rear lat spread for us, but from what I could see of them,(lats), in the pics they look pretty good too. Abs front, and serratus etc., all looking good, hell it all looks good to me!
The tan came up real nice and is holding well I see also. That melanotan kills me bud, mine is just now barely starting to recede after what, like 2 months of no shots! Crazy stuff.
You’ve made us all very proud, and are quite an inspiration on this forum my friend. Hang in there now, the prize is just around the corner. Do your best and show those boys what the ol Yank can do over there against all odds, lol.
We are certainly all behind you, so think about that as you step on stage. Wish we were there in person to root for you, that would be awesome.
Best as always,
ToneBone
D@mn, C!
I was just reading along and came across the new pics and had to log in so I could comment.

Lmao!
You look absolutely amazing.
Going to go read your entire thread tonight.
In a few months I’m running a test/tren/dbol cycle. Already have the gear. I just finished my first cycle and gained 22 pounds (I started a thread on it today) and am really excited about my second cycle, which I’ll start in January 2009. Wish I could start sooner, but patience - they say - is a virtue.
You look great, bud:)
Looking forward to hearing from you (after your carb-up). Just teasing;) You’re in the home-stretch now!
Hey looking good man, don’t worry when you eat some carbs you will fill out. It’s always crazy to do because you can actually see it and you feel it. Idk how you will cut water, but thats usually not a problem, you don’t look like you will have problems dropping the water.
drop some h20, get a deep/dark tan, some carbs, some gloss, and a nice pump before stepping onstage and hope for the best!
looking good man…Good luck, can’t wait to see the contest photos!
DG
I call troll, he hasn’t posted any leg shots!
lol
I’d just like to give a combined THANK YOU to everybody for all of your support. You guys make a hard thing a little bit easier, really, and I very much appreciate it.
Here are some points I wanted to discuss before the big day, so that nobody has any wrong ideas when I post my results (read: covering my ass)
*I am not a Japanese citizen, so I will not be allowed to “compete” against the other bodybuilders there. This is ridiculous, I know, but anyone who knows a little bit about Japan and the Japanese way of putting their thumb on the scales when it comes to their country will in no way be surprised by this.
I’m certainly not. I am participating in the “open” division, and of course I am the only one. I will still be on stage with the rest of the guys, at least, so any member of the audience will have no illusions about who the biggest dude up there is going to be ![]()
*This is a backwoods, bassackwards competition I am joining (even though it is the title for the entire prefecture). The chosen venue doesn’t want their stage to get dirty, and so oils or tanning products are not allowed! Good thing I got that base tan in, huh?
Well, at least all of the other guys are going to be in the same predicament I am in. I’m thinking of slapping a little dream tan around my thighs, hips and ass, anyway, because I’m still pretty white down there. Protocol be damned.
*The music for my routine will be Malaguena Salerosa, perfomed by Chingon. Anybody who is interested can have a listen here:
I was going to do a different song, but I just remembered this one, and it is probably my favorite song ever, so, even though it is last minute, I’m going to use it.
I’ll provide another update regarding final 3 days diet, water, etc after a little while.
THis spanish song is pretty cool, very classic
Wow, Cortes, that’s quite a difference from the pre-precontest photos. Good job.
Wow. Looking absolutely shredded. Once you get that carb-up in your muscles will be looking really full.
Regardless of what happens in the competition, you already have seen what you can accomplish (and HAVE accomplished). You did a great job on dieting down, truly impressed.
I’d just like to say thanks again to everybody who has posted their support in the past couple of days. I’d respond to all of you individually but I think other people reading this thread would get annoyed scrolling through a page worth of high fives ![]()
I’ll give a little rundown of what’s happening in the final stages here:
Today is 2 days out. Prior to this (not including yesterday), I water loaded. Basically, for three days straight, I drank over 3 gallons of water. I’ve never done this before and it was absolutely ridiculous.
I took 20-25 pisses every day, no exaggeration. I hadn’t paid much attention to sodium intake up to that point, from then started to cut things back ever so slightly. Changing out certain toppings on my food, mainly, from, for example, salsa on my eggs, to just a splash or two of tabasco.
I also cut out almost all carbs except for a small bowl of oats and fruit in the morning after cardio. On top of that, I was doing 2 a day cardio sessions (one 45 minute session in the morning upon waking and one at night) as well as a glycogen depletion workout in the afternoon. I was a frickin zombie.
I have never felt so disoriented and lethargic unless drunk or sick. I was thinking, around the second day of this, “fuck this, I am never doing another bodybuilding show again.” Well, I am happy to say that my last training and cardio day was yesterday, which coincided with my carb loading phase, which includes white potatoes or oats at EVERY meal.
I feel SO much better after 24 hours of this! My mind is fresh and clear, I have energy, my mood has skyrocketed, and I am thinking now that I would not mind going through all of this again next year. I cut back water to 1.5 gallons yesterday, will do 1 gallon today, and then tomorrow (day before the show) I will only drink .5 gallons and will stop drinking all water after 5pm.
I showed you those pictures at my nadir, believe it or not. Now my skin is sucking into the muscle, really thinning out. Vascularity is increasing and pretty much constant, and my muscles have filled out a little since my first day of carbup.
I will see what happens today and tomorrow to see how much more I will carb load, but presently it looks like I can eat plenty with it all going to the right places, which is wonderful news for me.
If I can, I will try and get pics one more time before the show, but no promises, as life is going to be pretty hectic up to that point and for a little while after. Either way, if you guys are patient, I will have plenty of pictures and results of everything after Sunday.
Oh, and incidentally, when the show is done, one of the only real Mexican food restaurants in Japan has been marked for my destruction. Those Japanese kids have no idea what they are in for…
