ahh welcome to the 2-3weeks before a show, i call it the “DANGER ZONE”!
Aside from it being a awful time in at least my life, you can really see how far u can push yourself mentally and physically. I imagine that if i could ever hit my conditioning perfect so im not scrambling at the end to get ready it would be a lot more comfortable.
Cant really critiqe your posing/routine as i havent seen them recently. considering your doing it right, practice it a lot although i know its hard to jump infront of the mirror inbetween eating awful tasting food and treadmilling for 3 hours a day lol.
good luck, your doin great, you can assume your legs and glutes are holding at least a little water. How are u goin to go about dropping the water?
For water:
You mind find this interesting Cortes…The guy who posted it and many others use it at ProM and Intensemuscle and they are fuckin’ peeled every time… check it out…Read the posts by HOMONUNCULUS
You may also want to search IM/ProM a little and see if you can learn anything about “shitloading”-basically if you have your water correct, you eat some junk food with carbs and that causes your the subQ water to get pulled into the muscles to form glycogen…which naturally dries you out and fills you out at the same time. (This is assuming your not drinking water with the food)…Tthats a very brief overview but you might search around those sites. Its a concept done by SKIP at intensemuscle, and he gets his guys peeled.

Would such a carb-filled junk food like pizza work? And how much? My show’s in a little more than 3 weeks.

I think that has too much fat… isnt Swole just referring to simple carb loading? sounds like it to me…
I’ve heard of people doing it with hamburger and fries. According to Skip, (the guy who is known for “shitloading”) if you have your water right, and conditioning obviously, you can’t spill over. I’ll be honest though I’m know very little about the total process as I don’t compete. But, you might want to go to IM and search, afterall Skip is a professional and deserves to be paid for the full gist of his stuff. I’ve just given you the basic outline of what I know. I’d help more if I could but I really don’t know the whole process, but its worth looking into.

Halotest? There’s a compound you don’t hear much about it anymore.
When did you start using? What dosage? What effects have you noticed compared to other androgens?

I started three weeks out from the show and will use until the day of. I take 15mgs upon waking and 15mgs before the gym. I notice an increase in aggression in the gym, and what I mean by that is a willingness to pound out a few more reps and push myself a bit harder on the last couple of reps. I don’t know if this is placebo effect or not. I feel a LOT stronger all of a sudden, and I’m pretty sure this is NOT placebo. I am working with usually between 8 and 12 reps, and the weight I had been working with suddenly became too easy and I had to bump it up, even though I am pretty carb depleted most of the time. I would estimate a 10-15% percent increase in overall strength in the week and a half I’ve been taking it. The best part about it, from a bodybuilding perspective, is the massive, ridiculous vascularity I am experiencing all friggin over the place. I believe halotestin is supposed to stimulate erythropoisis, and it certainly appears to be doing that job in a big way. Finally, I feel like it has increased my VO2 max slightly, as I would expect it to, based upon my previous sentence.
All in all, I would say this is some Great Stuff for just before a contest. The only negative effect I am experiencing, and it would be a clincher for some guys, is the very annoying breakout of acne on my back and shoulders that I mentioned. The intensification of this seemed to coincide with my addition of halotest into my cycle.
What, nobody else here has tried it? It was expensive ($120 for 100 5mg tabs) but, what the hell, I thought.

Hey cortes… do you find you get aggressive on test at all… if so to what degree?
I wanna see if i could handle halo…
Other than a bit more of a willingness to push myself in the gym (again, possibly/probably placebo effect), I don’t really find myself more aggressive there. However, in other areas of life, like in public, I do feel more confident and willing to assert myself, but I’m already like this anyway, so perhaps one’s natural personality is just enhanced. I really couldn’t tell you.
One other thing, I’m a LOT more irritable the last couple of weeks. Is this the result of contest training and dieting, halotest, or the combination of both? Again, I could tell you.
Alright. You guys are in luck. I just took some shitty phone camera pics today. You get to see a very carb depleted, flat Cortes 4 days out from his show.
Not too many angles or mandatory poses, but you can get the general idea.
Legs and back are still holding way too much water and I’m really annoyed with this. I’m cutting sodium pretty low starting tomorrow and I was making the big mistake of drinking tons and tons of sodium laden tap water, so I have fixed that starting today and hopefully I’ll get rid of some of that subcutaneous fluid.
I’m a friggin zombie. I’m SO happy I get to start carbing up and do my last training and cardio session tomorrow!
I know, same pose, but the lighting is different and it gives you a different angle. Also as always make sure and click on the image for a larger one with better resolution.
