After our talk yesterday, I went out and ordered a shiteload of food at Taco Bell in your honour…I know, I know, not exactly the same thing but best I could do for a tribute…Now go embarass all the other competitors.
Really excited for the results. Can’t wait for pics
Good luck with the show cortes.
I admire you for stepping up, Cortes. Knock 'em dead.
good luck!

x2
You have your cute little wife take lots of pictures. I know we’ll get a great summary of your experience when you get back and enjoy that Mexican restaurant!!!
its been a while since i’ve been on here and just read your thread - damn JOB well DONE!
Thanks again to everybody for all of your support. You guys are awesome!
By the way, it looks like I’m doing everything right. I’ve dropped water to 1.5 gallons today and, here at the end of the day, I am getting more vascular by the hour, skin is getting thinner and tighter (a lot, actually!), muscles bellies are starting to get solid and full. Most importantly, I feel WONDERFUL compared to just two days ago. I am in an honestly good mood for the first time in weeks, I have energy, my head is clear, and I am feeling confident whereas there were many, many times of doubt before. I can truly say that I feel ready for the first time since the beginning of this entire ordeal.
One more day of carbing up tomorrow. I’ll have six meals: steak and oatmeal (not together ;), chicken and potatoes, protein and oats, chicken and potatoes, chicken and potatoes, a then I have to study a little bit more about what I’m going to have to have before bed and on the day of the show. I have some ideas, but I haven’t quite decided. Water will be dropped to .5 gallons. cutting everything but sips off after five and up to showtime the next day. I’m also taking a mild herbal diuretic along with potassium, HOT-ROX, and a shitload of BCAAS. I have never done this before so am pretty much following a template from somebody else (Tom Venuto), but luckily I appeared to choose one that works, really well! If anybody is interested just see the earlier link that I posted and look around the archives.
Only one more day!
Good luck on your big day Cortez. All the hard work and sacrifices you made to get there culminates tomorrow.
So enjoy the experience and have fun! Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

I’m going with Cortes - 1 Mexican Restaurant in Japan - 0
Cortes! Come on. The suspense is killing me:(
Okay, just a quick one here because I’m completely wiped out and still have to go to work today and get a bunch of other stuff done, but it went great! I nailed my conditioning, kept hard, dry and vascular throughout the day, and, even though I could not place, I was told by the judges that, in a group of 16 of us, many of whom looked awesome, I would have taken 3rd overall!
Not bad for my first show and not having any idea what I was doing (oh, and 14 of the other 15 competitors had multiple shows under their belts…err…trunks, already). I am VERY happy with the entire experience, and though I was telling myself that this is not worth all the trouble through last week, the minute the show was finished I had already absolutely decided that I would be entering this show (and others?) again next year.
Thank you guys SO MUCH for all of your support. I seriously needed it and it really did get me over some hard hills when I needed an extra push.
I’ll work on getting up some shots from the show soon, but I may not be around for a few days because of personal obigations that need to be taken care of this week. I will definitely have something up before the week is finished.
Again, THANK YOU to everybody who gave me advice and kind words along the way.
And Mr.Zsasz: Yes, I think the $120 tab for just me and my (tiny) wife alone is testament to what went on at that Mexican food restaurant afterward ![]()
That’s great man! Good job. Can’t wait to see the finished product of all that hard work!
What did you weigh in at? Interested to see how much weight you had to lose.
Aww what the hell. Here are a couple of shots. Please forgive me, but I probably won’t post much more than this, as I do value my anonymity.

They didn’t weigh us on that day, but I was around 195 when I stepped on stage. I probably should have been about 190, as I know I still had at least 5 or more lbs of fat to lose. That was from a top weight of 217, so I would say I needed to drop 25-30lbs total (and did drop 22).
