And one more just for fun.
Am I tan enough for you guys yet?
Well, the top half seems to be. I wish I could be the bottom half to catch up but good luck trying to just plain lay-out during the rainy season in Japan. Believe it or not the top half tan (compare pics from earlier, if you like) comes primarily from just running outside in the morning. My face is so dark it is to the point that I’m taking measures to keep it protected from the sun now because I’m close to looking too dark.
Started Masteron a couple of days ago and I am looking forward to seeing what kind of further changes to my physique this brings.
I feel better about posing, but doing it in front of a mirror is quite different than having someone take a picture of you and you cannot see what you are doing. Looks like I need to start videoing myself and practicing with my eyes closed.
Oh yeah, my current body weight is 205, 15lbs down from my top weight this cycle. I had expected to drop to around 200 for the show, but perhaps 195 or even less is more realistic? This is my first time doing this, what do you guys think?
Damn Cortes you are looking awesome. Your rear Lat spread is very impressive, you are looking wide. Also looking very dense and pretty full. Good work so far and best of luck at the show.
Posing: I think u shouldent stand so upright during side tri/chest. Also turning your torso just a hair to the front will bring your chest out more. As far as your legs go on the side poses, i can see your feet are apart. By bringing your feet together and pressing your back leg into your front leg it will bring out the hamstring development.
I would say 195-190 would be a good estimate of what you will come in at. Look on track for 4 weeks (better then i was at 4wks lol). Have not really been following this thread but hopefully u cut the ketchup and surge out of your diet. I would cycle the carbs between 50 and 100 at this point up to the last week. Im not sure what your doin the final week but if u post i will tell you what i think.
As far as tanning goes, its really hard to get too tan. If anything the darker u get naturally the less fake shit you will have to put on later. Pose at least 20 mins 5 times a week to get your muscle used to holding the poses without shaking. hope that helps ill try to stay up with it now that your getting really close
Oh and I just read your request thread. I don’t know much about posing but I’ll give you my observations. Ab posing needs a little work, when I flex my abs I kind of push my stomach down and flat, then sort of raise and tighten my abs while crunching. I know that thats a terrible explanation so I’ll try to make more sense if you need me too. Also, in your rear double bi, its seems like you are pushing your shoulders blades together a little. I think you need to try to flare the lats a tad more in that pose.
Anyway, take what I say with a grain of salt since I don’t know how to pose, I’m just going by what I’ve seen.
oh yea i forgot, on rear double bi, dont push your head back so much, it takes away from your traps. just let your head sit normally.
Not Bad, Someone should teach you to pose proper, I am not seeing you to the best of your ability. Work on that, some shows are lost because of poor posing. You definetly need to get leaner, although you are on pace, being 4 weeks out. Make sure you get a qualified individual to help you on your last week, that is the most crucial week. Make sure you drop all AAS in proper times(You have to know how long it is in your system)Not sure, ask a qualified individual. The only thing that I see you should work in your off season is hams and calves. Good Luck, and I wish you sucess!
Thanks so much guys, this is exactly the kind of feedback I am looking for, especially on the posing. Because honestly, until today, I thought I had gotten pretty close to nailing that aspect of things and I was ready to move on to worrying about other stuff. I definitely will be taking all of this great advice into consideration.I’ve just right at a month to fine tune things. And I didn’t sign up to do this half-assed.
Dave, GetSwole and and pesty, thank you!

pesty, would you mind giving me some specific points in my posing that you think need to be corrected? I’m now noticing things that I didn’t even really think about when I was looking at the photos on my own and having another person to critique me seems to really work to substantiate what it is I need to work on.
Definitely glad to hear from both you and Dave that I appear to be on pace as far as fat loss goes, because I have been feeling behind. Probably a result of looking at a bunch of pictures of pros who are 4 weeks out and wondering why I don’t look like them!
My show is not drug tested, if that is what you meant. If it is not, I’m not sure what you meant!
And yeah, you are definitely right about hams and calves.
its best to think you are behind, it will keep you motivated when the going get rough and it will get much worse as u get closer lol. You are on track but that does not mean u can let up otherwise u will fall behind. Just keep goin full steam and start to figure out your final week-week and a half. That is the most important time that will make or break the whole prep.
Good advice, Dave, thanks again. I’ve started studying that final week pretty intensely here lately. I’m sure I’ll be back with a few questions.
I think come contest your abs will be ok. For some people it is simply the last part of the body to drop the remaining water/fat.
And as far as the final week, there is no way to nail it 100% without being lucky based on this being your first show. No trainer or pre made up plan is guaranteed to work because EVERYONE is different. My advice is to take a look at a few different plans and then take what u know about yourself to make a tailored strategy. It really is up in the air. Some pros are unsure how to hit their conditioning 100%. Best thing you can do is put the work in and learn as much as u can. Every show u do u will get better and better just based on the knowledge built while preparing for each show. Basically what im saying is get your ass off the comp and back on the treadmill lol jk.
Yeah, I honestly think I do have shallow muscle tendons, and I don’t think they are going to be my standout body part. I have been slowly adding more ab work in but I don’t expect miracles there.
My back is actually my best side, in my opinion, but this time around the fat and water do not want to come out of there, for some reason. I’m really hoping to get the detail showing there, because I’ve done it before and made it look great.
The comp is indeed in Japan. I will be bigger than basically every competitor there (it is a very small, local show with no weight classes). Unfortunately, because of the Japanese system of exclusivity and fair play (if you are Japanese) which they are famous for, I am barred from actually competing against anybody who can be beat. What that means is that I am relegated to the open-division, which I can “win” if there happen to be any other competitors that sign up for the open division. I cannot win the actual prize which all of the other competitors will be eligible to win, because for some strange reason you must be a Japanese citizen to do so (never mind that I have a valid spouse visa and have have been a resident of this prefecture [this is a prefectural contest] for 6 years now). Japan never ceases to not surprise me in this regard.
Thanks a ton for your input, Bushy, it is always appreciated.

I am worried about your abs, simply because it looks like you might be genetically limited there, by warrant of shallow muscle tendons and/or flat muscle bellies.
What I mean is that you are obviously lean, yet I can’t see your abs much.
Sorry to be negative. Other than that, you look great from the front and side, but a little lacking in back development.
I’m also curious as to Pestys comment about stopping the drugs. If it’s non tested comp then you wouldn’t need to halt intake. If it is tested, why would you be using steroids in the first place?
Anyway Cortes, I can see you have clearly put in a shitload of hard work, so well done mate.
BTW, is the comp in Japan? If so, do you know what the rest of the competitors might be like? Also, if they are mostly Japanese, do you think you will get a fair judging?

Well good luck with the little comp. Looking clean man
p.s - Dont let the little fellas get to ya
As far as the crab pose goes… Shouldn’t the elbows be flared out a little more?
