Second, where would you suggest someone do barbell curls? I’ve never seen a barbell curl rack, if you wanted to do barbell curls you would always have to steal them from some other equipment like this rack or a bench press.

Why not do them off the floor? Sure you’re still stealing a barbell, but unless it is the last one someone can still use the rack if needed.
I’m generally a fan of avoiding the use of equimpent that isn’t needed. For instance, if I’m going to do flat DB bench, and I have the choice of a flat bench and an (adjustable) incline one, I’ll take the flat bench so the next guy has more options available.

I hope this isn’t going to see you jump to the defence of squat rack curling.
Squat rack curls 4 Olympics 2016
Well, if the equipment is not being used and no one is waiting to use it for it’s intended purpose there really isn’t any problem with someone curling the squat rack, or using any other type of bench/rack/piece of equipment as a means or platform for any exercise … I’ve used the foot bars on a flat bench to hook my heels for some GHR’s … that’s me taking using equipment for other than it’s intended purpose, are you going to say that I’m a fool for doing so? Does it make it ok that I do that with GHR’s but if I were to curl in an empty squat rack I’m a fool then? I don’t see where the line should be drawn.
If you can use one piece of equipment for something else, there’s not problem. My gym doesn’t have kettle bells, I use dumbbells for swing work. My gym doesn’t have bumper plates, I use regular metal plates for O-lifts. If no one is using the equipment there’s no problem. I think some of you get off on ridiculing someone for “curling in the squat rack” yet have “misused” pieces of equipment yourselves and find nothing wrong with it.
Curling the squat rack is not verboten when it’s not being used just like using the flat bench to do GHR’s or the Pull-Down station knee rest to do GHR’s … just like putting your dick in a girl’s mouth or ass, it’s not meant for it but damn it does it get the job done…
I would say using a piece of equipment for a non-intended purpose is fine if either:
You need it (you gotta hook your feet somewhere for GHRs so this would apply here)
or
You don’t actually need it, but are willing to move for someone who does (i.e. curl all you want as long as you don’t mind moving for someone who wants to squat since you can curl elsewhere)

This doesn’t look all that bad. First its not really a squat rack, for me the height is never correct on those so it’s not my first choice as a place for doing squats. On that note I would be kind of pissed too if I wanted to do squats and that equipment was in use. However, I am never happy in general if I can’t find a place to do squats even if people are actually using the squat racks for squats. Same goes when all the bench presses are in use.
Don’t want to over train your posterior lifting the weight you curl from the floor.

Agreed.
I find when you ask as well and they have 2-3 sets left they fly through them to let you use the equipment lol.
I’m a patient person. Or if they have some sets to go and are doing a weight that I do I usually ask if I can go in with you. Most cases they let you.
Doing curls in racks like this is good. it stops people doing squats in it instead, potentially fucking themselves. Those racks are shit, they give people a false sense of security and then when they are needed they do fuck all.
Is there space somewhere else in the gym where he can stand and do his barbell curls without stupid pricks bumping him and his weight, or is he just making use of a space that 99% of the people who go to that gym will never use.
Also do you know the guy, has he been training for a long time, does he have any kinds of ailments that waste his muscles. Would you like him taking photos of you doing something he considers stupid because his knowledge and strengths in that arena were far superior to yours?
Curling in the rack with light weights is a crime when people are wanting to use it for squats, otherwise its just exercise.

I think you just contradicted yourself. I’m not positive though, I read it fast.

Or you could put a barbell on the ground and pick it up you pussy.
That picture really looks like he has two tens on the side and you say it is one on each? IDK trolling maybe? take some more pictures of you gym? thoughts? explanations? I swear it’s two plates

what does it explain HM? Maybe he does curls in the squat rack at a local Planet Fitness … maybe it’s the same Planet Fitness you were scoping out to do your little video shoot … which never happened … I’m on to you buddy, you probably never even were in 6th grade, you were probably home schooled
