Before long he’s gonna come on here and tell you he’s an ex NBA player/super star hip-hop dj turned record holding powerlifter who shows posers how to fight by beating them up when they get too big for their britches.

He’s like Professor X’s condescending, story spinning alter-ego, minus the photographic evidence and “tough-guy” love.
Coming from a wannabe. Let me let you in on a secret “white flash” - you’re WHITE!! Pasty white at that…so really, can’t you just annoint yourself “flash”?

Anytime I see someone using a piece of a equipment I need, I always go up and ask them how many sets they have left. They almost always just say, “I’m done.”
Exactly. Anyone that is too shy to ask me how many sets I have left I really don’t give a fuck about.

Reasons to curl in squat rack.

Bar is handy

plates are handy

plates are easy to load when bar is suspended on rack

No need to bend over to pick up weight each set

I’ve never understood why people avoid effort at the gym. Isn’t that kind of the point?
It’s not about avoiding effort, it’s about avoiding unecessary effort and being bumped into whilst curling by someone walking past.

Doing curls in racks like this is good. it stops people doing squats in it instead, potentially fucking themselves. Those racks are shit, they give people a false sense of security and then when they are needed they do fuck all.

Is there space somewhere else in the gym where he can stand and do his barbell curls without stupid pricks bumping him and his weight, or is he just making use of a space that 99% of the people who go to that gym will never use.

Also do you know the guy, has he been training for a long time, does he have any kinds of ailments that waste his muscles. Would you like him taking photos of you doing something he considers stupid because his knowledge and strengths in that arena were far superior to yours?

Curling in the rack with light weights is a crime when people are wanting to use it for squats, otherwise its just exercise.

I think you just contradicted yourself. I’m not positive though, I read it fast.
Not sure where i contradicted, but i possibly did, i tend to ramble and then not reread before submitting. i also see what i think i wrote not what i did, so to make things clear I’ll bullet point the most important parts.

      * I fucking hate that style of rack. They dont help you when you fail.
      * It's not nice to make fun of people. Who knows why the guy curls in there, but i bet if you asked him he could explain it.
      * Its bad to use equipment that you dont really need if there is someone waiting to use it.

Hope I make sense now.

happens at my gym on a regular basis, I saw my Brother in law doing it about aweek ago.

Foam roll that motherfucker!

For the people hating on him carrying a cell-phone in the gym, there are legitimate uses like using the stopwatch function, or taking pictures of female ass. Those are my 2 reasons.

I wonder if there’s a site anywhere where users complain about people squatting with their curl bars.

I bet people would be pissed if you used the seat of a concentration curl machine for box squats.

Wait, doesn’t CT curl in the squat rack. At least he did in the experimental arm workout. Shouldn’t you be bustin’ his chops
… are you R-tarded

I think it’s funny you seem to be the only one so vehemently against anyone using the squat rack aside from it’s intended purpose while everyone else here seems to get the gist of it …
Your statement only makes sense if you ignore the blatant fact that SOMEONE POSTED A FUCKING THREAD ABOUT HOW RETARDED IT IS TO CURL IN THE SQUAT RACK

I’ve just gathered that most of the people making fun of the cell phone carrying are just poor college students that don’t have a smartphone…many uses to bring it to the gym (including music would be another).

I bring a cell phone to the gym in case I want to use a phone while I’m there…

Yeah roger! for starters CT was curling in HIS power cage not squat rack.If it is in youre place you can do what ever you want in it.

And this whole phone debate,Keep your phone on you while you lift all you want. But dont walk around talking on it.Also dont start a thread on here about how you cant get big and that you must be a hardgainer when all you need to do is put youre damn phone away and quit tweeting about the guy curling in the squat rack and fucking lift weights.

We talk alot about what not to do in the squat rack so lets discuss what is excepted.

I do heavy shrugs and rack pulls in the squat rack.

I’m with letting the person know you’re taking a picture and getting yourself called an asshole.

That said, I’d ask if I could work in a couple sets, and then I’d use the apparatus like it’s meant to be used. Don’t you people ask to work in? If you’re working out for real, and the other person isn’t, the other person will probably go away in an instant. I do this all the time. I rarely wait more than half a minute to use something I want.

I’m a wannabe ‘cause I can dunk and like rap music? Last time I checked black folk hadn’t cornered the market on those things. Also, I’m pretty tan and I didn’t give myself this nickname, it was given to me by - you guessed it - a black guy. It’s stuck in some variation for years and when I see dudes I played ball with as a lil’ guy that’s what they call me.

I always bench in a power rack. :open_mouth:
Don’t need a spot, even if I can’t get one last rep.

It’s odd I think how many supporters, or at least justifiers of squat rack curls there are.
it’s weird the way a thread will go…if enough people near the start are for something…many will chime in of the same mind.

By the way I’ve posted a couple of movies of guys from my gym, as well as the semi-infamous “Nutbar on the treadmill” and my rationalization for doing it is that if you were a friend of mine in the gym, I’d call you over to take a look at what this guy or that guy was doing, for a laugh. But since you aren’t with me, well, I taped it.
