I tried a different approach for deadlifts today- as in warming up a bit. Before the listed ones I did some dimel dead lifts for the first time with 65#x20, then 115x20 to warm up. Its new this butt action hip thrust stuff! I am not sure if it helped or nor but it did not hurt so there’s that.
I feel a bit of a fever today…work has been passing around an illness for about 3 months that I’ve avoided but today I have some head congestion and feel a bit febrile…tons of water and some apple cider vinegar and sour kraut today to burn that stuff out.

I’m getting elbow sleeves. My golfers elbow is a total pain in the ass!!! I wanna do more pull ups! My elbows need some GEAR. Wt’d ones now and in the past have not even an option–I’ve tried that way to elevate the reps but my elbows just do not tolerate it.
So I’ll try sleeves! I will not stop doing pull ups! Those bastards were too hard for me to achieve the ability to DO to get to let them drop off.
Finally something lifting to report. I worked an overnight Tuesday night to wed am so no lifting Wednesday, might have been able to swing it but I wanted to give the fs more oomph. I liked how the squats went.
I was watching a video from Alan Thrall, about how much (how little, actually) money he made from hosting a Strongman competition.
There was a tie in the women’s division, broken by a grip strength thingie where both women grabbed hold of a piece of wood, feet braced against another piece of wood facing each other -super cool. I bet you would win that event!!! “All” you have to do is tie for the top spot LOL.
Do you overhead press at all? You sure seem strong enough to be very competitive in strongman otherwise.
Also, Alpha is the guy in your breathing 360 video and he is a strongman competitor and has won Maryland’s strongest man. “…Strongman is your destiny…” (said in best Darth Vader voice LOL)

I um…should press more often. I used to do push presses/push jerks often and loved them but have shied away for years after they upset an old scary back injury that is currently dormant… I’ve done a few log presses here and there and there and its been no issue, I just I forget about doing them!
Just a nice long wt’d vest walk today, around 6 miles. Its SO NICE OUT!!! I couldn’t not get out and walk–56 or 60 degrees before the sun comes up is near perfect weather. The pull up globe has left me sore in my triceps! Al the 6 reps or so i did I can feel today! YESSSSS!

As it has been pointed out to me more then a few times for years, and I know its true, I lift guided by “Intensity not execution”–a spot on description for me! Its good and its bad to do that, but its not efficient Having cues has helped a lot yet its still so hard to reign it in!!! Its just so much fun!!!

very minimal wt pull thru’s x5, x10. The last time I did these they fried my hammies for days so I’m trying to slowly add them in.
Did some pull ups yesterday 7, 6, 3 sets of 5. My elbow sleeves showed up! I tried them after I’d done a few un-sleeved pull ups and I felt they did something. We’ll see. Next time I’m using them prior to any pull ups to see where I’m at with the gear.
My superb supervisor (refereed to as Clown Head among other trusted coworkers) scheduled 5 techs today in my department when we usually only have two. So I took the day off last minute as a mental health day. I’m excited to hang with Mossi and nap ALLLL DAY. I’ll be working another 30 plus years, why not take a day off.
My bw is up a bit–168 today…mmm…however I’ve been refilling some lost ground on wt’s from my summer emotional meltdown over Moss. The 245 frontie today was a tied PR from a mid last year!!! And it felt strong! I just kept telling myself “I am capable” and it happened.
The cues have helped a lot but I still have some dirty reps here and there. The heavier wt’s seem to be easier to keep on tract which is pretty sweet.
I’m still chasing that 250 fs…I’m coming for you next mofo.

pull ups a set of 9 --tried this silly ting where you hold a foam piece between your knees- supposed to make sure you don’t kip. It felt ok.
Yesterday did a set of 10 pull ups with the sleeves! They are GREAT. I am using them from now on for any elbow intensive movements.

The theme of my training is to become an ACE OF BRACE!!! AB IT OUT!!! Also I changed the tempo on my warm up. Every lifting day I start with glute bridges and then some other glute stuff. I typically do this slow doing them faster seems to help fire me up. The added dimel deadlifts seem to have helped too.
