Boxing for Cardio?

Hey all. I lift in the Westside style and I am (reluctantly) forced to admit that I need to do some cardio to keep my health and bodyfat in check. Trouble is, I can’t stand ususal cardio. Could I do some kind of boxing workout (i.e. the heavy bag, punch mitts) as a cardio exercise to lean down, or is that too detrimental to my recovery efforts? Otherwise I’ll probably have to go with the long, slow cardio like Dr. Lonnie Lowery recommends. I love to box tho! Thoughts?

I would say go for it and see. As long as you are only hitting bags or mits you shouldnt get too beat up. You might find your upper traps and front delts getting too much work, in which case you should back off.
