Boxing-Style Conditioning for Powerlifters – Anyone Doing This?

Hey lifters,

I’ve been testing out a boxing-based training protocol as part of a side project I’m involved in — it’s still in development, but the goal is to build explosive conditioning without hurting max strength or recovery.

The setup includes:
:boxing_glove: Short, high-intensity bag rounds
:man_running: Footwork + mobility circuits
:chart_increasing: Strength sessions stay the priority, but with added movement and speed

Surprisingly, it’s improved my recovery between heavy sets, made warm-ups smoother, and leaned me out a bit — all without touching traditional cardio.

I’m curious:
Has anyone here added boxing-style conditioning into a strength program?
How did it affect your lifts, joints, or work capacity?

Would love to hear what’s worked (or failed) for you. I’m still refining this method and open to feedback from real lifters.

I’ve tried it, and it actually works. The boxing drills help with conditioning and recovery between heavy sets without doing the usual cardio. It’s a solid way to stay lean and keep up the intensity. Just watch for burnout if you’re not careful with recovery. Overall, it’s been a good add to my training.
