Bowed Legs Correction?

Hello everybody,

I am new on the forum and I came here, becouse I really like articles in T- Nation, I already learned a lot and I am still curious to read further.

For some time I am folowing correction program Neandertal no more, becouse my posture is far from idal and I would like to do something about it. Although I have almoust all problems outlined there (lordosis of the spine, kyphosis/rounded shoulders…), there is still one diference: I do not have knocked knee alignment but just the oposite I have bowed legs, and strange kneecap alignment in knee flexion (kneecap goes to outside of the knee in flexion).

Now the question is how to adopt the training program NNM for this misalignment.

For better understanding I also attached photos.

I would be very happy to get some answers from you, becouse I think this is the reason for my knee pain. If you need more information I will be glad to provide them.

Enjoy, M

Bowed legs are a skeletal issue that can’t be corrected with exercise. It probably is not the source of your knee pain and probably will not cause you any problems with your training.

People with bow legs are thought to have an increased risk of patellofemoral dysfunction from an excessively tight ITB. Probably something you should look at, ie check how tight your ITB’s are. I’m sure there will be some nice descriptive vids on utube if you’re unsure.
But yeah probably not much you can do about a skeletal deformity.
