This might sound like a strange question as it??s more medical than lifting but here goes
After squatting (light or heavy) I get a thick line of burst blood vessels running from shoulder to shoulder and across my back where the bar has been pressing. It can look pretty bad sometimes like I??ve bled quite a lot. It doesn??t hurt at all so I??m not that bothered but I was wondering if this is normal or if it could by symptomatic of a medical issue as I??ve never noticed anyone else with similar marks
I’ll try getting a picture of it tonight but yeah, it’s odd that it doesn’t hurt. I was hoping that people would say ‘yeah, that’s pretty common’ as I hate going to the doctor
As for bleeding a lot, it’s nothing drastic but you’d see it from the other side of the gym (if I were topless which I can assure you I wouldn’t be :))
i will get brusing during front squats because i have to rest the weight on the front of my shoulders, i wouldnt worry too much about it maybe the capillaries arent used to the pressure yet? first time squatting in a while? do you bruise easy else where?

Nah, I’ve never thought I bruised easily. I’ve been squatting at least once a week for about 18 months but since starting adding in some 20 rep multiples a few months back the weight I use has gone up quite a lot so that could be it. Maybe my skin will adapt to grow used to the load a little more with time
Ditto, i used to get it from the standing calf machine, i occasionaly get it from squats, if i have my ipod arm strap on too tight i get it from curls, its just burst blood vessels, nothing to worry about.
