Feel free to shave weight from Lattimer’s number to embellish mine.

Thank you guys so much for your help. you made this data-collection alot easier. I know my results will be a little biased (since you all are so swole and strong :), but its just an assignment. best of luck with training and everything else!

I have a question for everyone. I have a 15 year old son, weighs 138lbs benches 255lbs clean and strict. My question is how do these numbers stack up? They are very good in his school, but we don’t have a weightlifting team, he is interested in finding a competition to see how he stacks up. Are these numbers average, strong, weak, or whatever as far as competitions go? Thank you for any input.
355 @ 195 pounds. Also did 3 chinups with 80 pounds on my weight dip belt. I know it wasn’t part of your question but I wanted to tell somebody!![]()
205lbs @ 130.4 bodyweight
365 @ 230lb bodyweight
Piper1:
Being in Texas, you are in luck. The Texas High School Powerlifting Association is one of the strongest in the Nation.
Go here. www.thspa.org
You should find all the information you need including an answer to your question.
I have a heavy 132# lifter (136-7 training weight) who has a touch and go “raw” max of 260-280 depending on where he is in a cycle. We consider him pretty darn good in the bench.

Actually, it looks like you have a pretty well-rounded sample of TRAINED indiviuals – you even have lattmeier and Grey Area to fill in the tails ![]()
I would bet this comes out to be a pretty “normal” distribution. If you were looking at a sample of ALL individuals (T-men and, well, “them”), we could possibly skew the data if the sample were weignted towards us. You should post your results after you finish crunching.
405 @ 238
230 @ 150
330 @ 183
275 @ 220
(wut a pussy)

255 @ 138 is awesome for someone who is only 15 - although I’d still consider that pretty strong for someone at ANY age! If he’s interested in competeing, I’m sure he’d do pretty decent.
And to answer the subject post-
Previous bests are as follows:
365 @ 198
380 @ 212
415 @ 230
I say “previous bests” because at the current time, I am recovering from a strained pec.

My one rep max is 315lbs at 155lbs bwt. Raw, with a 1 sec pause at the bottom.[/quote]
Whoa, that’s very respectable, indeed. Congrats, LittleBigMuscles:)))) Surely impressed me a lot more than the others. More by a long chalk!!! I know how hard it is to be that strong at that low a bodyweight. Hadn’t trained for a couple of years, but I have been on the comeback for a couple of months. When I last tested I hit 315@180 raw, paused, which is nothing compared to you. I wish I hadn’t put on all those pounds sunsequent to discontinuing training. Once again great results! Keep up the good work.
All the best,
Martin
460 @ 279 Raw no pause
350lbs @ 260lbs
280 at 170lb
275 @ 215
350 @ 162. It’s been awhile since I maxed though…have only done flat bench 2x in the last 6 months (last Sunday did 335 for 3 sets of 3 with 2-3 reps in the hole. I now weigh 202 (same body fat%)
