Been Training Poorly for Last Year

Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.
I’ve been training since the start of the year, but it’s been very very inconsistent and my diet would make most of you cry, I don’t eat anywhere near enough. But this will all be changing soon because I’m moving house, right near a gym and will have access to more money to buy food, anyway.

I only have a few pictures of my back atm, but I will get more as soon as I can, was just wondering (back-wise) what you guys think needs work…
The marks on my back are from some wierd massage thing my mother thought would be beneficial (she’s crazy)

for some reason the picture I want to upload wont work, so I’ll just link it.

for the record, not my pink room.

And another one

stats and lifts?

Umm, did my first deadlifts a month ago, went for a single rep max at 105kg (that’s 231 pounds)
umm, my bench is pretty shit, maxed out at 85kg (187lb)
No idea about squats, I have knee issues so I have to stick to leg press…
edit and my friends who are stronger than me don’t seem to row as much, I do sets of 15 on 66lb for 1 arm bent over rows, dunno if that’s good or my friends just have pussy backs

I’m 6’1 and 75kg (165lb).

Changed the bench from 85kg (137) to 85kg (187) I guess I need stronger glasses ><

Why do you currently have a rating of 8, and 85kg for your bench does not equate to 137 lbs.

Get squatting. How bad are your knee issues? For your bench press your rows are on par.

Thanks for that, I missed (and fixed it) and I dunno, I guess some people are easily impressed?

I’m more interested in what you think my back (my back specifically) needs improving than the rating.

cuz hes hooouggge!

Just a heads up scott, that’s my max bench, and my sets row, for bench I normally do a weak 10 X 65kg. But I guess the fact most of my friends have the backs of 10 year olds girls don’t help…

My knees are pretty shoddy, they click in and out (causes ALOT of pain) the second I go below about 45 degrees, but for some reason I can do legpress to the chest without much pain, so I do that instead…

Any suggestions for the knee shit is welcome too, my quads have always been pretty solid, but the hams and calves resemble once again, a 10 year old girls.

You’re not big enough to have strong and weak bodyparts. The reason you have knee pain is because you leg press to your chest. Stop leg pressing. You have the back of a 10 year old girl if your deadlift max was in the 230.

Front Squat
Incline Bench
Barbell Row
Romanian Deadlift
Eat more

I would guess that your knees hurt when you squat because your form is off, therefore you are shifting more of the load to your knee joint instead of it being spread throughout your knees, hips, lower back like it should be.

All of your back needs work (including the rest of your body). You’re very small. Read up on some diets here on this sight. read Berardi, Poliquin, Thibadeau, fuck it, read all of the authors here.

Eat meat, eggs, dairy, whole grain, veggies and fruits.

Deadlift, Squat, Press, Row, Pull up, a lot.

Scott, my knees have always been weak and I’ve always had different troubles with them, they used to swell up like an orange after matches when I played basketball.

I meant I CAN do a legpress to the chest btw, I don’t do it that far down though, but close to.

dude you don’t just have incredibly weak knees what did you do to them?

From the age of about 10 onwards as I grew (I was a tiny bit over normal and then randomly rocketed up to 6’1) I had the growth plate oshkasladiz or whatever the hell it’s called, but I have some wierd ligament thingy that means if I go beyond a certain point in squats (squats are the only exercise so far that do it) they click, I’ve tried pistols\free weight squats and they still do it. I’ve also got a wrist injury I have to see a doctor about soonish, so I’m going to get my knees checked out too.

Even if you squat with no weight in your back your knee clicks?
You can do a bodyweight squat with no pain?

Edit: Disregard this post.

Do you squat wearing knee sleeves?

I had a bad knee clicking problem until I started doing leg work with knee sleeves on and haven’t had it since and my knees feel a lot better now.

I didn’t think of knee sleeves, thanks for the suggestion!
