Hey Coach,
Im trying to understand what is going on in my body while im on the ANACONDA Protocol. Ive been following it for about a week now to a T but with only 2 FINiBARs rather then 3. My problem is that I find myself exhausted in the gym whenever i take it. I thought the spike of nutrients would give me more energy not less. Should i try taking some sort of stimulant alongside the protocol to help wake myself up?
Just some background-
Ive been lifting for 5 years religiously, im ~250 and 14% BF currently trying to put on more mass. Generally i follow High protein high fat diet and i only introduce carbs into my diet in the morning.
Just looking for help, trying to find a way to make this protocol more effective for my body.
Low blood sugar maybe? From massive amounts of insulin-spiking amino acids and no+little carbs + intensive training. Or if you ‘generally’ follow low carb, but not always, you wil not get fully adapted to that, and feel like crap.
I’m not a fan of low-carb, but if you choose to take that route, you can’t go off and on without any thought in to it, because the results will be that you feel like crap most of the time.
Ghosto,
I have noticed the exhausted, drowsy feeling as well the first week I added Anaconda in to my protocol as well. Now…I’m noticing this after not during training. It may be from a new phase this week I started, thus changing exercises. (New Stimulus) But this is the first week I have added 2 scoops of Anaconda to my two Surges peri-workout.
I’m using the “old School” protocol. I am on a cutting phase getting about 160g ± carbs on workout days…I’ll let you know if it goes away. It could be its caused from the energy expenditure from the new protocol, making us tear shit up more than usual…not sure.

Without more info, my guess is that you may have poor insulin sensitivity due to this.
I recommend that you give your normal diet and supplement timing so that CT and others will have a better idea of what’s actually going on.
Hey Brian,
do you think some sort of glucose modulating agent might assist the FINiBARs as far as absorption goes (without the post ingestion drowsiness) in someone with these issues? (Vanadyl, maybe cinnamon/chromium?)

I think it’s highly unlikely that FINiBAR is the cause, because I’ve yet to see anyone experience a blood sugar crash after consuming them, but it wouldn’t hurt to experiment with any of them items you’ve listed.

If you have been on a low carbs diet for a while it is possible that your body produces too much insulin OR that your muscles are too sensitive to insulin so that you end up with low blood sugar. It’s a rare occurance, but I’d suggest trying one FINIBAR pre-workout and the second one midway through the workout.
