There was a lot of talk, pre-Anaconda availability, with the articles and info on I, Bodybuilder that insulins pulsing was neccessary along with amino pulsing. But Anaconda finally drop and has zero carbs? Did I miss something? or did the “science” change?
just read the protocol it’s all there. plenty of other ingredients for insulin spiking other than carbs.
Read it, even did a word search on “insulin” on each page, nothing…so exactly which ingredients in Anaconda would spike insulin?
casein hydrolysate, leucine.

AND FINiBARs-
OP- CARBS=INSULIN

AND FINiBARs-
OP, Anaconda never had carbs. It’s always been hydrolyzed casein and other things. Originally the protocol called for spiking insulin with Surge Recovery- which proved too expensive, so they introduced FINiBARs to the equation. FINiBARs serve to hydrate and spike the insulin.

what? SR is not more expensive than FINiBARs. They suggest 3 FINiBARs (IIRC) which is $4.50
where as a serving of SR is only like $1.60
Additionally, FINiBARs do not spike insulin
Yup, youre right, I did my research on the protien…had no idea CH was that cool.

Just add some glucose and/or maltodextrin to your Anaconda.

…and why exactly would you do that? Hopefully not because you think it’s “the only” way to spike insulin. Did you just reply to the OP’s post to give him poor advice without reading other posters’ input?

Why would you do this?
D-glucose and maltodextrin are inexpensive and would have been included in ANACONDA if there was a reason to do so.

If not taking FINiBARs and you want to add carbs then why not?
EDIT: I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) that ANACONDA + D-glucose and/or maltodextrin would produce a bigger insulin spike than ANACONDA + FINiBARs.
Additionally FINiBARs are not affordable for some people and glucose/malto offers a cheaper alternative.
I also believe carbs were not added because it will increase costs as well as shipping (size and weight of containers) also because it offers the user a choice of how much to add or not.
So if you disagree with me please explain.

FINiBARs have both slow and fast digesting carbs. We don’t know the exact mix of each, but you can estimate it. The fat also has something to do with it. I think the FINiBARs DO elevate insulin considerably, but due to their slow releasing nature (fat, palatinose, and other ingredients), they do not result in a huge drop in blood sugar mid way through training, which can happen if you only take SR.
