Alternative Velocity Diet

Well i read over the Velocity Diet, but i dont wanna buy any Metabolic Drive or Surge, but i already have plenty of protein powder.

so heres my alternative, my max calories on workout days is 1500 and on off days is 1300.

breakfast(solid meal)8 AM
chicken, cup of brocoli, green tea, 2 eggs(i don’t eat the yolk, i don’t like it) 3 fish oil pills

11:30 after work out
shake with 2 scoops protein(48G) an apple

2:30
shake with one scoop protein(24g)
2 tbsp. natural peanut butter(9g P, 16g F) 3 fish oil pills(3g F)

5:30
shake with one scoop protein(24g)
2 tbsp. natural peanut butter(9g P, 16g F) 3 fish oil pills(3g F)

8:30
shake with one scoop protein(24g)
2 tbsp. natural peanut butter(9g P, 16g F) 3 fish oil pills(3g F)

10:30
shake with one scoop protein(24g)
2 tbsp. natural peanut butter(9g P, 16g F) 3 fish oil pills(3g F)

should i switch it up a little? maybe another solid meal so i don’t use up all my powder?

2 things.

  1. The solid meal option is for the weak, if your going to do the V-diet do the V-diet. Shugs has said one of the best parts of the diet is the change in your cravings which doesn’t happen to the same extent if you have a meal everyday, not to mention a meal a day leads to a lot more complexity and one of the great things about this diet is how simple it is, just drink a shake.

Not to mention 2 meals a day isn’t even an option anywhere at anytime-it isn’t even relatively close to the v-diet at that point.

  1. Shugs has said MANY MANY times and even showed his angry sarcastic side which is rare- “If you use inferior (read: not Biotest) products you will fail and fall off.” Im not trying to say Biotest is the end all to be all in terms of supps but in this case I wouldn’t take chances elsewhere.

Hit the search option and read some of the many threads on the vdiet. I’ve done it, it works amazingly, and it is a bitch using doing it correctly. I can’t imagine trying to skimp on protein.

Shugs explicitly talks about people doing what your trying to do. take his diet, use other products, change options, and all this other stuff then when they fail miserably say the v-diet is crap. If you can’t afford to load up on Metabolic Drive right now, do something else and save this until you can do it correctly. period.

What do you lose if you give it a try? You might consider other types of nut butter. Natural PB would seem to get old after a while.

Cashew butter is really good.

The V diet was a product mover. All it was, was a low calorie low carb diet with enough fat and protein.

Basicaly any diet with whole food and some vegitables/fruit would be better than the V diet if the calories and carbs were low enough.

The only difference is its easier to stay on a whole food diet and your body burns more calories by digesting solid food.

The v diet is great cuz it is simple. Don’t need to count cals or cook or measure or plan. The simplicity of it is what makes it beautiful. But to each their own.

I know when I am going to do a seroius cut I like the conveniance of the v-diet, but it is by no means the end all to be all of dieting.

I’ve never tried cashew butter. i haven’t really been taking too many shakes, trying to make it last until the first of the month.

but most my meals are low or no carb, high protein high fat. also low calorie

It makes sense. If one can create a low cal, low carb diet with whole foods it should be a fat burner. You can even bland your food and drink it, he he.

100g egg whites = 52cal, P 11g, F 0g, C 1g

Yuo take it from there…

Almond butter need not be forgotten either, though it and cashew butter are expensive. Last I checked almond butter was up to about 22 dollars a jar in my area for the quality raw stuff. Not much cheaper for the inferior stuff.

Anyway, yes you can get through a very low carb diet similar but not identical to the V-diet with non-Biotest supplements, but it makes it more difficult. I would not worry so much about the protein powder, though I would definately get some HOT-ROX. Most other diet supplements out there are at best worthless and at worst may damage your health due to excessive caffeine and diuretics.

I believe HOT-ROX makes a big difference with protein powder making some but not a drastic difference.

Also, tastes can change without switching to an all liquid diet. It may help but it is not neccesary. When I first did low carbs following a book I read about 5 years ago called the Protein Power Lifeplan, I was getting in at most 40 grams of carbs per day, and many days less than that. I soon had a taste for all kinds of fruits and vegetables. I hated such things as a child and teenager. Before then my main vegetables had been french fries and ketchup.

I strongly recommend ZMA for recovery and sleep aid. You will almost certainly need it. It may be good to have some potassium pills on hand just in case, though with all of that peanut butter you probably will be ok. Some people getting healthy for the first time and going low carb find their electrolytes are imbalanced with a heavy degree of sodium in their system.

So, bottom line, buy some HOT-ROX and ZMA (cheap and effective) and do not call it the V-diet. To be fair it is not the V-diet. It may be inspired by it, it may work wonderfully for you, but it is not the V-diet.

Good luck.
