This is my third day on the v-diet. I have never dieted before. I don’t understand how this is supposed to be possible. I trained yesterday and had constant catabolic muscle twitches, you know, the kind that only go away after a HUGE meal.
Today I feel somewhat sick and DOMS are really bad. I dreamt about food at least twice last night and had to get up and make a cheat shake.
This shit sucks!!! I have never been more agressive and angry in my life. I hate being hungry.
Anyway, this is a bet with my wife and I don’t want to lose. Wish me luck.
P.S. On the plus side, all of those flax seeds and fiber supps. have given me the BEST shits of my life. That is one nice thing.
Being hungry, especially if you’re not used to it, ain’t fun.
It ain’t part of the V diet, but if the supps they recommend don’t help you deal with the hunger then you might try hoodia. It doesn’t work for everyone (as a guess say 2/3 of people) and not all brands work. Now brand hoodia does work. Get the stuff that’s just plain hoodia if you try it. 2 caps three times a day.

No Surge. Been using chocolate milk PWO.
Strike one.
What other supplements are you using?
Training the way Chris said to?
I am, that is another problem. I can’t train that much without food! I am definitly going to cut down on the weights and increase the reps. I will also start training twice a day because all of those sets are too much at once.
I am using TRIBEX and ZMA. Those are the only Biotest sups I use. Basically, I matched the nutrient breakdown that Chris outlined with what I have available. What I have available right now is Jarrow Muscle Optimeal, psylium husk, flax and Whole Foods brand fish oil.
I am a seasonal employee at a local Whole Foods so I use their stuff because I get a discount.
Quite the extreme diet to use for your first dieting attempt. Anyway, dude, we all go through a variation of the same shit under heavy calorie restriction.
You cannot support the same type of effort in the gym without the normal calories to supercharge your recovery. Make sure you follow the recommendations that Chris originally laid out. Everyone, well, a lot of people, think they’ll “improve” the results by working harder, bad idea. Bad, bad, bad.
Anyway, a possible tip, I’d drink a diet coke (or pepsi) after supps or after a shake and find myself completely revolted (i.e. not hungry) by the stuff.
You can do it. No matter what your brain and body are screaming at you, think about other things and just bull it out. Your body thinks it’s dying, it’s never seen anything like this before, but you know better, right?

Well, doesn’t sound like you are really doing the v-diet then… and man, without some serious caseine in your protein, you are toast, that stuff is just simple fast digesting whey.
I swear if I see one more person talk about the V-Diet while doing something that is barely even recognizable to the V-Diet, I’m going to go freakin batty.
Original Poster:
Are you using Surge? No
Are you using Metabolic Drive? No
Are you working out like you’re supposed to? No
Are you using HOT-ROX? No
Are you taking morning walks? Probably not
Jeez. Is it any surprise you’re having a bad experience?

I think it’s crazy not to use Metabolic Drive. the op needs to spend a couple of hours reading about protein metabolism.
I do think chocolate skim milk w/whey is an okay substitue for Surge.

I agree with both of these posts. The chocolate milk is probably okay, but not as good, and if you’re doing that, I’d at least suggest BCAA’s, but then if you can afford that, you can afford Surge.
I did change some things with the V-Diet, but I didn’t change anything that Chris already mentioned in either his articles, or replies to people about the diet.
If you can’t find where Chris says it’s okay to substitute something, don’t substitute it.
This diet is hard enough with all of the right supplements, right workout and right macronutrient splits.

Does hoodia have vasodilation properties like that stuff they put in Spike shooters?
No. Hoodia doesn’t do anything except…if it works for you (it does me) it is more like making you full then just taking away your appetite. Of course this is also a different experience at 2000 cal with solid food vs less and shakes.
You know there are less strict diets that might be easier for you, though of course take a bit longer.

Yea, it’s going better now.
Thanks for the replies concering caesin. I am rotating casein and whey now and it is really noticable. The casein keeps you satitiated SOOO much longer. I think that was the kicker. Whey alone just didn’t satisfy.
