Im not sure if this has been covered before but either way. My biology teacher was speaking about people being addicted to hot food becuase the casium(sp?) physically burns the mouth causing the body to realease endorphens which produce a natural high. So the pain and soreness after a workout could produce the same effect. It might explain why we ( im assuming other people) feel so shitty if we take days off. It is like taking a drug from an addict. Just a thought.
Nothing new. Just runner’s high. But anyone can get it, lifters too.
It has been shown that exercise raises serotonin levels. This is a hormone that makes you happy. Low levels of it cause depression in some people. Maybe the hardcore that train constantly always have serotonin levels elevated and when the have a lazy day it drops down and the feel shitty.
