600 Bench Press RAW

Was there a third spotter on the left that we couldn’t see? I sure hope so.

Saw that as well, couldn’t believe there were none in the one with Efferding

yea and seemed to get thrown off by the spotter moving it. according to the powerliftingwatch article, he tried again and hit a double (using the guy recording as the 3rd spotter i guess)

Predictions?

I say

700
725 WR
740 fail

Eric Spoto 675 x 1 raw paused bench press - YouTube Spoto did 675 x 1 raw bench with a big pause!!!

Then for 3 times! light easy speed reps Eric Spoto 675 x 3 raw bench press - YouTube

HE LOOKS FUCKIN HUGE

The same fuckin weight for a double!

how many sets he did with 675 FFS

so he does a single, double, and triple with 675 in the same day? wtf!

also link didnt work for me:

He started at 605 for an easy triple. Then he did 655 for a single and then handled 675 3 different times before pausing it. He moved a lot of weight that day. His final set was 675 paused and it was a joke as you can see.

He did an amazing progress for 2 years,at that level!!! Here he lifts 600lbs for 3 times with little effort, now he triples 675 easier and touches the chest! Eric Spoto Bench Press Raw 600 - YouTube more than 80lbs of progress for around two years!

Jumped the press command a little on that paused single. Still crazy easy though. 700+ is in the bag, barring injury. If I were him I would open at 700.

Big man makes 705 look like nothing. Can’t wait for this meet.

I hope he stays injury free! He surely deserves to put his name among the best benchers ever.

He will bench to mid-7 in that meet, which is just amazing. Can’t wait!

I really hope they don’t post a 715 plus on youtube if he gives it a go. I’d rather wait until november.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG !!!

Unreal. This is obviously getting way ahead here, but it’s possible we could see an 800 raw bench out of this guy before he’s done.

He seems to make progress week-to-week, so there’s no telling where he’ll top out. He’s pretty young, right? This guy’s gonna be the Usain Bolt of benching, basically competing against himself. And, to the poster who hopes they don’t post him beating the record if he does, I think they’ll hold on to it and if something goes wrong at the meet they’ll post it to show he’s got it, it just wasn’t his day. Unless something goes horribly wrong though, I don’t see how he doesn’t crush it.

Have you guys seen this? Here he does 655+50 bands for 1, 605x8 and 500x17 !!!

Eric’s last set in that video is completely ridiculous, I’ve never seen anyone handle 500lbs that way. Wow.
