They weren’t helping they were just making sure that if something went wrong that they could prevent any injury to their multi-million dollar, dominant, future hall of fame lineman. I sincerely hope you’re joking.
I was being serious, but watched the video a few more times and it does look like the middle spotter was probably helping
Lol at “probably helping”. That dude is strong as an ox, no doubt, but he’s not getting near 6-hubdo without those spotters, let alone 700.

Yeah man, I don’t see anywhere near 100lbs of help.

I have to agree with WhiteFlash. That guy got at least 100lbs of assistance in that lift. Both side spotters were obviously touching and also the middle spotter. It doesn’t take much from the spotters for the pounds to add up. Think about how easily each of the side guys could apply just 25lbs of pressure. The middle spotter only had his fingers on the bar, but I could easily apply 100lbs of force like that; I’m sure a professional football player could as well.
It’s just a big, strong ball player in the gym, so I don’t even mind the bounce or anything else in the least. If you’re not a powerlifter do whatever you want. But universally I think if anyone else but you was touching the bar during the lift, it’s just a wash.

This. I’m a PLer and I couldn’t care less that it was a touch and go whatever, but to call it a good lift, no hands but your own should be on the bar.
Thanks for the laugh.
Yep, that chair could surely hold 1100 lbs right on the end of it. Should have at least used a better prop such as a bench.

I wouldn’t care if he was benching 545 with his belly for a spring board and his ass a foot off the bench. He’s a ball player, and that’s still strong as hell. But, again, this dude ain’t gettin’ anywhere near 6-hundo without help. Football fanboys are almost as bad as CrossFit fanboys. A little common sense goes a long way.

That’s still pretty strong for a natty though

Maybe he’d be stronger if he spent some time in prison.

So natty. Such potential. If I framed that guy for possession and got him into a prison basketball league I could have him benching 800 raw in no time.

There is obviously some weight on that bar, I would be afraid to sit in one of those chairs with anything over 135.
Agreed lol.
Larry Allen was a freak of nature for sure. It’s always fun to hear former cowboys talking about him. Nate Newton’s told plenty of stories on ESPN radio Dallas.
