my best 1 rep max was 285 a couple years ago when i was off from college sports. now that i am just in the weight room i am focusing on max strength and hope to hit 300 before i turn 25 at the end of january. i have no idea how realistic it is but the last bench workout i did was 4x5 at 225. at the moment i think i weigh around 205.
My goal is to hit 315 sometime next year. Right now my max is somewhere around 235-245.
I’ve decided to switch completely to incline for a few months, as I really neglected that exercise in the past.
370lbs at a bodyweight of 210lbs. Too much abuse of my body over the years…so full benching only once every 3 weeks or so. In between I use boards, floor press and close grip.
One of the proudest moments I have had lifting was the day I hit 300lbs. I had not lifted in months for some reason and went back to benching when a friend of mine started working out.
I had had a shoulder problem from playing football in high school and could not put up any weight more than 175-185 without my shoulder grinding, popping and aching for 2-3 weeks.
When I went back to benching, whatever was wrong with my shoulder had cleared up as I went from 150-315 in the course of seven months. My goal is to put up 400lbs with each position; index, middle, and ring finger on the smooth band of the knurling.
I am getting very close to this goal by occasionally training with a powerlifter who frequents my church.
Seems to be a pretty common level for guys to be at but I’m also looking for 315 raw. Tested max yesterday and hit 285 - i want the 3 plates by next march in time for my first meet. I’m going to beef up the front delt and tricep work as well as practice the groove hard with the occasional DE workout for a month or so and reassess.
I also find benching the hardest to improve, but as long as the total’s always increasing I’m happy!
255 but I haven’t maxed in a while
I want 3 plates before next June!
i just did 225x10 so i should be good for 300 in a week or two, bw: 250 height: 6’ 5’’ age: 17

With one post and no pics, I’m assuming you consider that weak because your “spotter” (read: lifter) rowed about 2 or 3 plates of that.
This is, of course, giving you the benefit of the doubt by believing that you actually lift weights at all.
As for me: 275 x 4 as of last Monday… I’m going to work that up to 6-8 reps over the next few weeks or so before pushing to 315 as my bones don’t seem to be liking the constant jumps in weight on this exercise.
