i was benching 350 and 405 at the end of my senior year right before leaving for the navy. now im at the same point and sometimes get up to 455 when im not working a lot. sometimes I wonder where i would be if i didnt but I have a 500 raw dream that i think ill be close to in 8 months at least high 400s

I recently did 308@165 raw at the worlds and was really pleased, 11Ibs up from the nationals at the same weight. Next target is 330 but will probably have to go up a weight group. Got a few months til my next meet, so training really hard at the mo.
Update: got 345x1, going for 365 today. Also, 225x12 incline after a light bench day.
Bench sucks for tall people.

I hit 300 at around 200lbs… I am 5"5’ and my last pr was 345 for three and I strained my right pec, I was at 193lbs… I am trying to get back my strength and I am at 185lbs now and I just did 245 for 5 this last monday… My pec is still sore so I am moving up slowly… I can’t wait to get back to 300lbs at around 190lbs…

after a year at 270 (yeah, it was terrible) i finally started seeing progress this summer, and in the last few months i’ve put 35 lbs on my bench… hahah

nice, ive been stuck at 275 since summer or actually i lost progress down to 265 and now im back to 275 but all ive been doing is inclines, declines and pin press no regular flat pressing and yesterday i hit three plates on the decline so i know i can handle the weight, saturday… HERE I COME BABY
My next goal with 308lbs is to rep it 15 times.Im up to 10 reps at the moment.

well with sore pec and all… I felt real good monday and setted my way up to 285x4… 300 will be hit again soon!
ah if you done 285x4 you’l be well able to hit it again! im only gettin back into it heavy now after a bad shoulder injury in april! was stuck on 240-250 for aaaages. . just a lot of inhibition on anything over that i guess it was protective or some shit. . its coming out of it. . used to hit 310 at 165lbs. . id guestimate 290 at 168 lbs at the moment. . . meh. . 300+ after xmas. . 8 months down the drain! ![]()
loada arse was dipping bw+155lbs and hurt the same shoulder again. . been restricted to close grips and bodyweight stuff the last 2 weeks. . think 300+ will be a while after xmas! ![]()
I’ll do this race. My current 1RM bench press is 240 in the gym with a 225 meet PR, last Saturday. I was very close to 245 in that same meet, but couldn’t finish the lockout.
I always thought my bench sucked … seems like I’m right up there with everyone … I’m 5’8 180ish and put up 305 yesterday … Still shootin for the 3 plates … I’d love to hit it below 200 … that’d be friggin sweet

Congrats on the progress. How long of a break do you take in between sets. Taken a bit longer may have helped you to atleast get 315 once at the end of those other 4 sets.
I take about 2 minutes or so, when I workout by myself I do not like to take longer than that.
