2015 Goals Thread

It’s 2015! I hope everyone was able to achieve their 2014 goals. Regardless of that, it is time to set new ones and start training to achieve them.

Last year I brought my bodyweight down from 357 to 307 and brought my total up from 1450(ish) to 1750(ish). If this year is as productive as 2014 was I will be able to hit a 200lb total in the 275 weight class. This sound practically impossible but it’s good to set goals slightly out of sight so that’s what I’m going for.

What are y’all hoping to achieve this year?

600 unwrapped Squat (60lbs away)
700 wrapped squat (75lbs away)
400 bench press ( 50lbs away)
650 deadlift (50lbs away)
Front Squat 600 wrapped

All at under 210 BW and compete on the platform at 198.

Geez, you get around 100lbs out of knee wraps? How the hell do you do that? My wrapped squat is only slightly higher than my unwrapped.

@ Bodyweight of 230

Power Lifting:
700lb Deadlift
700lb Wrapped Squat
530 Bench

Strongman:
350lb Log Clean & Press
1,000lb 60 Foot Yoke Walk
350 Axle Clean & Press
400lb Stone Load
800lb Farmer’s Handle Deadlift
750lb 60 Foot Farmer’s Walk

Other:
405 Push-Press
550lb Front Squat
315lb Strict Overhead Press

Maybe I should wait until more people post so I don’t feel like a boy among men here.

405 TnG bench (about 40-45lbs away)
405 trap bar deadlift (hip issues)
315 2" Axle bar deadlift (my new favorite toy)

Climbing related goals
5.13a route
V10 boulder

All at 165lb bodyweight (so add a few lbs of muscle)

If your goal is to bench 405 at 165lbs bw you definitely aren’t a boy among men here lol. That’s almost what I bench at 300lbs.

Posted this in my training log, but here it is now:

Squat: 190 kg/418 lbs
Bench: 142.5 kg/314 lbs
Deadlift: 250 kg/550 lbs

And also to get to and hold a BW of just under 93 kg.

220 kg (485 lbs.) Squat
160 kg (352 lbs.) Bench
275 kg (606 lbs.) Deadlift

I’ll be 19 by the end of 2015, hopefully put up 700 kg (1543 lbs.) total raw before I turn 20.

TBDL 500# x 3
OHP 195# x 3
FS 275# x 3 (it’s abysmal)
BP 275# x 3

Binge eat less.

Ok ill play, I’ll look at this at the end of the year and hope to not be disappointed

pull 750 (50lbs away)
squat 700 (w/ wraps, 100lbs away)
440 bench (35lbs away)

And maintain my relative leanness @275, even though over time I’ll probably have to move up since im 6’1" and have a pretty large frame

Stiff Thick Wraps wrapped as painfully tight as you can imagine. I get 50lbs out of Light wrap and 70ish out of a heavy and if I have a partner wrap me with my heavies I can literally get 90-100lbs out of it for sure. In a wrapped Squat I have never had an issue of my legs not pushing any and every wrapped squat I have missed is due to my upper back giving out and putting me in a bad postion and I dump the bar forward.

Great, thanks for making me feel weak at 225 lbs! Seriously, though, we are only really competing against ourselves, and can only start from where we are.

Compared to the things I see here, I’m not that ambitious. In reality, I have two powerlifting milestones I want to reach this year:

Deadlift: 405
Bench Press: 225

I weigh 225 lbs and am 49 years old. I’m planning on entering my first competition (raw push/pull) when I turn 50 in December. I’m a lot closer to my deadlift goal (345) than my bench (145). I know those aren’t very impressive numbers for a 220 lifter, but I am the strongest I have ever been in my life since I started lifting a few years ago. I don’t pay attention to the meatheads who tell me where I “should” be. As long as I keep working and making progress, I’ll be happy.

Goal for 2015, to do another meet.

Goals for 2015(all raw)
ATLEAST----d/s/b…dead 650…by end of 2015(625 first will be a pr).should get.Squat anything over a 550 squat (will be pr)…and bench get 380 (370 current pr) alllifts were at 198-208…But i dont care what i weigh for these lifts…just wanna get em for 2015.Setting the reasonable hoping for more…
Bw goal is 215…im like 5’10 or so…My heaviest was 210 but was laid off for 3 months and trained ate slept only…it was nice…

Goals? Not get injured. Not get sick. A solid year of lifting would be fantastic.

Otherwise, just improve week to week. The big numbers will come in time.

All good goals fellas. Here are some of mine: (231lbs bodyweight)
*All raw numbers

Backsquat-700lbs
Front Squat-575lbs
Bench Press-400lbs
Deadlift-660lbs
Push Press-440lbs
Strict Press-330lbs
Jerk From Rack-500lbs
Snatch-170 kilos (375lbs)
Clean and Jerk-210 kilos (463lbs)

365 bench
600 wrapped squat
700 pound deadlift

tryin to hit these numbers at sub 275, currently sitting at 295

Goals for my meet in July are 500 squat w/ wraps, 325 bench, and a 575 deadlift for a 1400 total

End of year I’d say 525 squat, 345 bench and a 600 deadlift. Would love to be a leanish 210-215 bodyweight by next year.

Don’t mean to be a “meathead” telling you where you should be but it may help to post form videos on here to get some pointers. You’d be amazed how much small form tweaks can really help you get progress going. I know it has been a great addition to my training over the past year to have people with much greater knowledge than myself offering free help.
