Hey everyone, I was sitting today on the couch at home, watching TV and eating, and thought about what goals I want to achieve next. So I think it’d be cool for everyone to rant on themselves and maybe others could give insight on how to reach these goals closer. Anyways here I go.
Age: 17
Weight: 188
Height: 5’8
My goals are in the next 6 months of hard training:
As of June I would like a:
Squat: 500+
Bench: 370+
Deadlift: Not sure yet cause haven’t deadlifted in 4 months…but I will expect a 525-550.
These goals are to be acheived. WILL be achieved by the time it is June. The squat will definaetly come earlier than June, but the bench will need till June. I am also thinking that I will hit 380 for bench, 385 by June…but let me not get ahead of myself here. These are my goals, and I am now on a relentless approach to getting them. Your turn.
I don’t really care about strength gains. I just wanna get swole!
Seriously though, I don’t have exact numbers I’m gunning for. I just want to follow my current plan and train as hard as I can and see what happens. After that is finished in March, I’ll figure out some goals to aim for.
This is my very first plan/program ever, as I am new to the whole bodybuilding thing…
i wrote up a 6 month plan for myself and have been following it since 10/30/06:
my starting weight on 10/01/06 was a sickly 141lbs. I came in at the beginning of the plan at a slightly fatter 146lbs.
i will gain 5lbs every 4 weeks, which cumulatively will give me a 30lb weight increase… give or take… by the end of the 6 months i plan to weigh 180lbs
i also want to increase my 3 basic lifts by 50lbs in that 6 month period.
The first 8 weeks will focus on deadlifting, and i will try to get it up to about 250lbs.
The second 8 weeks will be benching, and i’ll try to get it up to 150lbs.
The last 8 weeks will be focussed on squatting, and i’ll try to get that close to 250… perhaps shooting more for 230-240.
It’s now 12/04/06 and I weigh 156lbs, so I am right on track. A month and a half into things and I’ve already gained ten pounds. I have not yet tested my deadlift 1RM, but I can tell I am stronger. I think I’ll hit my goal, or at least get close… but this first plan was based mostly around gaining mass… I finally decided it felt rather futile trying to increase my numbers while still walking around on chicken legs and benching with little noodles…
So that is my plan, sorry it was kind of long haha
I’ve been having trouble putting on mass, but I’ve got it figured out now I think. Depending on how much fat I put on, I want to continue bulking through March or even April if I stay lean enough. I definitely want to see my weight back up into the 190s–195 lbs would be fantastic.
I’ll maintain for a couple weeks then do something like Berardi’s “Get Ripped” (maybe start with V-Diet if I’m not lean enough). I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this, but because I’ve been pretty fat I don’t want to let my body fat get too far past 15%.
I also want to get my Oly lifts up next semester. I’ll be taking a strength and conditioning course for PE and the coach said he’d help me with my form. I’m primarily interested in bodybuilding but I’m also into sports at the club/intramural level, and the more competetive I can be, the more I’ll enjoy it. Not to mention I really enjoy the Olympic lifts.

I’d imagine not, I’ve put on 45 pounds in the last 2 years I’ve been lifting. (Mostly fat.) Bringing my up to a grand total of 160. :(
I got to admit like Doug Adams, I just want to get SWOLE! Something approaching a Stan Mcquay physique. I would love to be able to put up 400 pounds on the bench as well. Mainly just looking strong, dense, and lean. Oh, and being healthy able to do this shit well into my seventies, eighties! It’s my lifeline to sanity.

How old and what height?
I’ll be 22 in a month, and I’m 5’11.
Also, I have added 50 pounds to my bench this year. bringing me from 90 to 140.
Good Goals and sets by everyone so far. More people should be posting, I know there are more out there that have a goal they want to achieve. I only say this because I feel as if once there is a goal set…mentally…you are much more focused on it…since I’ve made my goals clear and I’ve made my action plans for how I am going to accomplish it. I can definaetly say nothing can stop me. Just a good relentless approach.
get my achilles all healed up…then bust my ass in the gym again…aint done much in a month now…(it’s killin me)…just want what I had…198lbs, 8%…and I’ll be happy again.
P.S. don’t rupture your achilles…shit sucks…
