those would be damn nice lifts at your age, any competitions you could do for that age group? If there were competitions be a good way to keep you motivated also.
Yeah, there are Master's OL comps. Those lifts above would be American world records, and would make me competitive in the Worlds. But I have to figure out what to do about my HRT. I don't think a letter of "medical necessity" would get me past the "anti-doping" agency. I'll try and sort out alternative strategies to my endocrine problems, and I'm counting on the fact that with all the great supplements, clean diet, and good living I'm doing, maybe I'm reversing the conditions slowly anyway. I'm also being careful to not abuse the T I take and stay in normal phsyiologic levels.

Hey, thanks for caring. Doc

how much you weigh doc? maybe you’d complete in the 105’s? If so, even with the numbers you got now, you would have placed 2nd or so @ the American Masters (haven’t seen final results, but from what I’ve seen…). One of my clubs coachs Bob Giordano won golds in the 105’s… w/ 100/120 at the M55, the M50’s I don’t think weren’t much higher/lower etc… your ~120/150 would be damned good in just the Seniors for the 105’s… go America?
HRT? Eh, you might be ble to get around that but iunno.

C’mon now, there’s guys competing with much more serious dosages than you’d find in HRT. There’s ways around it.

Doesn’t really now, last time I checked my time sprinting was in High School - 50 m / 7.0 hand-measured. Now I’m really into the whole explosive/vertical jump/sprint thing, so hopefully will check again soon.
By the way, we are neighbours, greetings from Bulgaria :)
Howdy neighbour. Well, since you say you’re Bulgarian I’m now sure you’ll be reaching those goals, the Bulgarians I’ve met in the gym all seem to kick my ass! With those lift goals I’m sure you’ll be doing a lot better than 7 seconds in 2008.
Looks like my goals maybe set a little high but am new to powerlifting so still making reasonably rapid progress.
Would also like to enter my first competition and not embarrass myself.

your goals are set very low…

for kilos? I wouldn’t say they are high but adding 40 kilos to squat, 40 to dl and 20 to bench is definitely a decent goal.

Oh shit! I read this, and like Ne3b, thought the goals were too low. But pounds or kilos? If these are kilos, we have a Monster discovery here with SICK potential. But I think he’s just a beginner, it was his first post. Doc
My best lifts in a meet are
650
450
550
in the 308 class
gym lifts
700
510
570
I am going to move down to 275 and shoot for
700
500
600
I usually do not lose to much strength just a little leverage and all my gear fits loose, I will have have to buy new gear if I am going to hit these goals.

aren’t we gonna do some sort of betting on these goals to make things exciting and raise competition?
Sure, why not? Especially since you and I have the exact same clean and jerk goal (150kg). The real question is what to bet. I noticed you have some nice ho’s… Doc
Sorry, just a few more details to clarify. All weights are in kilos. I am currently weighing about 97kg (213lb) and have been training on and off for aboout 8 years but only in the last year started to get serious about strength training. All lifts are raw (belt only on squat and deadlift) and am lifetime drugfree. Planning to do my first meet in April 2008.

See- why can’t we have a nontested weightlifiting fed? The IWF testing shit is fine for Olympic hopefuls. But what about the rest of us? If I decide to do a cycle, I can’t compete (or I have to cheat). If a guy is taking a lousy 2cc’s every other week so he can still feel like he’s 25 years old, he just about needs a papal dispensation to compete. If a girl takes some weak amphetamine for ADD and forgets to file a bunch forms for a waiver, she’s out. Jesus- why can’t we just lift some damn weights and not worry about everybody’s chemistry?
500# squat 250~ bench 500# dead,
clean bulk up to about 205, (195@12% now)
get promoted to SERGEANT(not strength related, but damn cool)
compete in some ameatur MMA events
