2008 Strength Goals?

So since this IS the strength forum, what are your goals for 08’?

I’ll go first.

Finally get around to doing a powerlifting meet. I plan on doing one in March and November.

Lifting Goals by end of 08:
Squat: 250 kg (551 lbs) w/ minimal powerlifting gear (champion suit or power pants, belt, knee wraps)
Bench: 155 kg (341 lbs) raw, 175+ kg (385+ lbs) w/ a shirt (rage or rage x probably)
Deadlift: 215 kg (474 lbs) w/ belt, 227.5 kg (501 lbs) or more w/ a suit.

Other goals:
Get in better cardiovascular shape.

Either cut to 181s (loss of 8 lbs) for March meet or stay in 198s and bulk up 10 lbs to fill out the weight class.

260/190/272.5 for 722.5kg at 100.

Pretty massive goals, on the far side of attainable but it’s what I want.

I’m planning a full Smolov run this summer so I’m expecting my squat to jump. My bench is jsut a matter of putting the head down and training hard (I’ll have a Katana on the way soon) and I reckon I’m finally figuring out how to pull sumo so I’m setting the goal at 600lbs (272.5kg).

Broader goal is to total 1500.

More specific goals - squat 600, bench 400, pull 650.

All raw, no belt, no straps, no wraps.

I’d like to put an additional 20 kg to each of my oly lifts so I can reach 110/130 kg by the end of the 2008 (@ 77 kg bodyweight).

Bench: 405x5
Squat: 600x5
Deadlift: 655x5

goals? well, to put a ton of weight on my snatch and clean and jerk… end of year?

Snatch : 100kg
Clean and Jerk : 120kg

those numbers are kinda low imo =D

oh, and at under 85kg bw, like to get to 80kg end of next year

Id like to get my back squat up to 180kg and my front to 155kg, and for my O-lifts not to suck hard, at a lean 85kg.

romanaz, why do you want to get to 80kg? Going to start lifting as a 77 eventually?

By the end of 2008 I should like to have achieved: 100 kg military press (70 kg at the moment), 200 kg squat (140 kg right now), 200 kg deadlift (Also 140)

Also I hope to be a little leaner so I can do a few more pull ups and break 12.0 in the 100m.

Nice! Our strength is similar but you’re something like 30 kilos lighter. Mind if I ask how quick you can do the 100 m? (I’m just trying to guestimate how low I could get it if I were to cut)

280/200/300 for 780kg at 100kg. Current best total is 700, up from 580 at the start of the year. Current gym bests are 250/185/280.
Become the #1 ranked junior in Australia, finish the year in the top 3 for the Australian open 100kg class and get a total that would get me in the USAPL top 100 for the 100kg class.

500 dead, 300 bench, 400squat.
That means I get a year to improve 110lbs, 75lbs and 75lbs respectively.

Put 50lbs on my deadlift and drop a weight class.

I’m a ways behind alot of you guys, but my goals are as follows:

Bench: 200
Dead: 350
Squat: 300

Doesn’t really now, last time I checked my time sprinting was in High School - 50 m / 7.0 hand-measured. Now I’m really into the whole explosive/vertical jump/sprint thing, so hopefully will check again soon.
