Is there really much difference? I find front squats to be very uncomfortable in terms of balance and that they pinch my shoulders. Hack’s on the other hand are great feeling!

Shit, I meant Zercher Vs. Front Squats. Are they significantly different?
The title says zercher but in your post you say hack so it’s hard to tell which one you mean. And if you are talking about hacks do you mean the barbell behind the back method or with a machine?
i read zerchers are not as good because the weight is not near the center of gravity which puts stress on the back
Front squats hit the quads more with less stress on the supporting muscles of the back.
Zercher really work the spine and supporting muscles. It has good carryover to real life situations like holding something in front of you and lifting it.
Really depends on your goals. For leg development I would go with front squats.
