Remember the first time we really hung out. We went to the beach together. In Red deer <?>
And you were grumpy with the dumb stuff your mom was saying in the vehicle.
That was one of the best days of my life…
hey guys, so for yesterdays workout… big things happened. I missed reps for the first time!!!I am going to blame it on the fact I didn’t go to bed until 10 am on sunday… slept for a few hours and then went to the gym. Monumental day… didn’t affect me as much as I thought it would, although some guys that were around definitely turned to look when I cursed at myself haha. alright so here it is…

You know you don’t have to do a set at every single 10 pound increment on the way up to your working weight, right? That looks exhausting.

You gon’ be squattin’ 200 before you know it!!!
I am not so sure about that!! ITS GETTING TOUGH.
It’s supposed to be tough. If it was easy everybody would do it, but as it turns out, by and large the gains you get from your training are proportional to the effort you put into it. The days when you’re tired, when you’re hurting, when you’re sick, when you’re weak, when you are everything but at your best and you go in and put in the work anyways, those are the most important days.

But I do!! The program I am following at the moment told me to haha. I have been thinking about changing it but its still working for the time being…

Really? If your program tells you to do it then do it, but that seems really odd. Once you start getting stronger doing a warmup set at every ten pound increment starts to add a lot of unnecessary volume and time, and takes away from your working sets. Are you sure it’s not just to go up in ten pound increments for your working sets from workout to workout or week to week?

The friend add, silly.

It was my first one!! (Other than spock) so you know… kind of a big deal
weight 153.6 ( after this long weekend i am gonna do some diet analysis and try to drop a few pounds, I would ideally like to be <150. So then I will attempt some change until march when I go to Vegas )
Squat
alllllll my warm up ones
then
5x5 @ 125
Bench
2x5@45
1x5@55
1x5@65
1x5@75
Ok guys…I missed a rep again… I got mad haha And my ‘spotter’ angered me on almost every set.
1x4 @ 85 so i missed the rep on this one, but it made me so angry I didnt miss any on the next three sets
3x5@85
1x4@85 ( I missed another rep ) SOOO won’t be moving up on bench next time…
barbell Row
5x5 @ 85 Form still kinda shitty so not gonna move up next time on this either.
Its feeling pretty good, and you know, missing reps actually makes me feel kinda good because I know I am finally at a weight that is challenging. It felt especially after I missed that fifth rep of my first set on bench but was then able to get three sets of five reps after that ( although they were super wobbly and sloppy) I am quite nervous about missing a rep on squats though…
Side note : vegas… Super excited… I think everyone should join me haha
