Yogi: How Do You Train?
TheCB wrote:

What will Yogi achieve by posting these pictures?
What will you achieve if he doesn’t?
That’s not me being upset. That’s me laughing at how hypocritical you are.
I’m confused, CB. Are you suggesting that those numbers for Yogi aren’t accurate? Or do you just want to see what that looks like? I don’t see what would make you think that’s an extraordinary claim. After my first cycle, I could see veins through my shoulders, lats, quads, abs, a couple across my hamstrings, etc. And this was at like 190 lbs. Probably 29-30" waist after bloating went away. Yogi’s been way more consistent in the gym than me, and actually trains for aesthetics. And he’s a bit more experienced with the steronz than I am. I have zero doubt that his physique looks awesome and that those numbers are accurate.
i just want to see what he looks like no sinister motives

@fatboy - yawn, please stop messaging me
You haven’t learned how to read in the last month unfortunately. That message was to Flip…

Let me check

Checking…

Checking…

Yup, still a free country. Go fuck yourself.

Just catching up on the boards - thanks for sharing Yogi. I was interested in your regimen as well.

Thanks for reminding me of that thread! Made me chuckle out loud.

I don’t think he does

woah now, everybody play nice!

TheCB and I get along well, and I know he wasn’t trying to call me out or anything.

I will get a pic! Haha, just need to have the “Hey, fancy taking a shirtless photo of me and emailing it to me so I can post it up on the internet so a bunch of random dudes can see how ripped I am?” conversation with the mrs first…

Lol. Tell her you’re getting paid for it. That should go over well.

In late.

Bringing us back onto topic:

I want to hear more abou super-high-rep front squats; namely, how you worked up to them and how you approach them today.

The only point of reference I have is that I’ve been working my way into some very high-rep kettlebell work (sets that are several minutes long) and it fascinates me to think someone could sustain that level of effort required for barbell squats for that long.

Did you start out doing sets of ten and work your way up to the high reps?
Or did you start doing high reps with lighter weight at first and then work your way up to 80kg?
Do you do multiple sets in a workout, or warm up thoroughly to one monster set and then move on to accessory work?

Any comments would be cool.

Pretty much answered your own question there, mate. A bit of all of those but mostly caller number 2. I started doing high reps with lower weight and just worked my way up.

Now it varies from week to week but I might just work up in 5s to get used to the weight, then do a single high rep set (rest pause style but without racking the weight) and call it a day.

Other times I might just work up in sets of 20 (I don’t rest pause these) until I can’t hit 20. Really just depends on how I’m feeling that day.

If I had to choose, I’d say I prefer the sets of 20 style the best. I only do the giant set once every 4 weeks or so depending on how much caffeine I’ve consumed. Sometimes I get frisky with drop sets and such.

Oh, and when I’m not trying for a monster set I always pre-exhaust with three sets of leg extensions paired with leg curls. Quite like to pause on a box too, although I rarely do those as I find they lend themselves better to low reps/high weight and that gives me the fear.

My next experiment is going to be a 10x10 GVT style with a leg extension BFR finisher. Ouch!

Hi!
I hope you will resume posting here. The quality of the forum really suffers when you don’t. People seeming to actually be looking up to yogi was the last straw.
I understand, but there really is nothing in it for me. It’s not like you can actually help those that need help the most. Just look at all the regular posters who have achieved nothing really, despite all the useful info at their fingertips. Just a waste of time really.

shore, if you’ve found value in reading posts on here in the past, then you’re simply paying it forward by continuing to post.

The guys who you are referring to (I could certainly name them) aren’t necessarily in the majority. If they stay small and weak forever, so be it. For every clueless dude that shows up on here and never learns anything, there’s a clueless dude who shows up here and makes substantial changes.

It is a pity we have at least half a dozen guys on here with thousands of posts and who have made little to no progress over the course of multiple years. I hate seeing that.

it would probably help

I can’t tell if you’re serious… I’m hoping not.

If you are serious, what would naming them do? Everyone knows who they are, no need to call people out like that. I imagine you could do it as well as I could anyway lol.

in all honesty i dont think i know who you are talking about at all i skip through the majority of posters usually.

i was being serious - a forum like this is there to help if you think certain people are not putting in the work you would be helping them by telling them.

it doesnt mean you are being rude/want to argue/etc

imo anyway

I go by the approach that, if you post more per year than your powerlifting total, you should probably post less and read more. I feel like that has a decent way to control the noise to signal ratio.
