Hyperextensions:
3 sets of 20
Pullups:
3 sets of 10
Now that Chia’s not here to make me do cardio I’m planning to do more upper back tomorrow instead.
Ive been wanting to try knee wraps for the first time too. I get like, 20 pounds out of neoprene sleeves so I kinda feel like an idiot that I haven’t yet. And my next meet allows em.
Wide Grip Bench:
45 20x
95 10x
135 10x
185 5x
205 8x
205 8x Everything paused. Not sure if the light weight with a wide grip is doing anything for my bench numbers yet, but Ed Coan said to do it, and that’s always good enough for me. I’d literally eat shit if Ed Coan told me to.
Lateral Raises: my favorite

Chest Supported Rows:

V-Bar Cable Rows:
2 sets of 20
Pretty standard accessory/recovery day. Very bodybuildingish.
you suck at lateral raises
doing very well at everything else
One of the older guys at the gym keeps harassing me to buy wraps, but I’d feel weird going through your 10 min ordeal just to hit like < 315. I guess I’ll just see how my knees hold up at I get closer to that noob 315

you don’t need fucking wraps
The meet is June 14. Quincy is probably right about the wraps lol. Although Eric did say that he started using wraps before he could even squat 405, which for him was probably like age 12, but still. They’re gung ho about wraps cuz of their dad I think. He’s had a lot of knee issues in the past which he attributes to lots of closeish stance squatting sans kneewraps.
I have shit knees and squat close stance without knee wraps. I struggled with 245 for 3x3 today lol so I just need to focus on getting strong and improving my form for now

do you guys wait till you hit a certain strength level, or do you just wait a few months before a meet?
I’ve yet to try on a pair.

They use them because they enable their squatting styles.

Yeah since I was like 2.
Oh man, you’re a southerner?! Thick accent and all?!!
Haha na. I’m extremely accent neutral. I grew up in basically a rich, affluent suburb of Knoxville. I will say this though, you can drive just a very short distance and reach parts where the accent is quite evident.

I can relate with the rich suburb surrounded by mega hillbillies. I’m from NY, but live in a rather ‘rich’ area outside charlotte, NC. Also, that cake-shake concoction is definitely ME! I occasionally train at the gym Adam Scherr often trained at, and the gym owner would make me a post workout shake that Adam often drank. I don’t know what was in it, but my god it tasted like ice cream unicorn sperm. It was probably around 1000 calories, 80g protein, and 50,000000000000000 carbs and fats. NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM UMN!
By the way, to be less sugar coated, I say drop the wraps to piss people off.

What fun stuff is in tennessee? Do you have any tourist attractions and whatnot?
Fuckin Dollywood OMG!!! They’ve actually got several sick ass roller coasters there now. I mean like seriously big, fast, legit ones. It’s a blast. It’s like an Appalachian poverty themed Disney World.
Also Knoxville is a good place to go eat. We have an amazingly high number of restaurants per capita.
We have quite a large zoo. It was the first zoo to breed an African elephant in the western hemisphere. There’s an African elephant there now that weighs 15000lbs, which is enormous even for an African elephant. Also all of the elephants can paint pictures. One of the best places for white rhinos as well. Also we have had the most red pandas of any zoo in the world except one in the Netherlands. We’re all about red pandas.
I would mention that we also have the third largest stadium in the United States, but all you can do there these days is watch the Vols get their asses beat.
