. Now we’re talking about how to do a rep? Really?
I have to agree here. It’s hard to argue with results, especially when these guys are more developed than I, but it seriously seems like this is all being overcomplicated.
It doesn’t seem that complicated at all based on everything I’ve read.
It is different from what many do, however, and many are resistant to change.
I guess the part for example “use your back muscles to pull the bar down”, if you pull the bar down with your back muscles you’re not working against gravity at all on the eccentric, along with the fact if you use the back muscles to pull down, how the hell are you supposed to go at a decent rate.
Maybe I’ve just skimmed to much and am missing something.
Powerlifters have been lifting like this for years and they all control the eccentric (in fact they must pause on the chest). The way I have people learn this concept is to lower a weight down to around 4" from the chest and hold that position while contracting/squeezing the back .
Especially when wearing a bench shirt. It forces you to learn to pull the bar down to the chest using the back. The pause then forces you to explode off the chest to get the weight moving again.

Thibs, is this a technique to better learn the “perfect rep”? Then from the 4" position, pull the bar closer to the chest with the antagonist muscle (back in this case), then explode on the concentric for a fast turnover?
This might help, because today while doing incline barbell bench and db bench, I found with the barbell I hit the chest several times because trying to pull too much/fast with the back. And on the dumbbell bench press, I found I actually had too much of a stretch and was pulling the dumbells too low before the turnaround took place.
Would this technique you mentioned above help me to learn the “perfect rep” quicker? or any other recommendations?
So do you suggest that we need to use a lighter weight to work out this way?
Also, what do you think about how many reps and sets during a workout? And how many total exercises per workout? And how long of a break between sets? And how much time should be spent in the gym? And how much time the muscles need to recover? And how often the same muscle should be worked again? And what kind of split to use? And if doing a compound movement followed by an isolation movement is a good idea?

My apologies for answering your question with yet another question, but did you inconvenience yourself with reading the FAQ before trying to unearth the holy grail of training in 5 lines? Most (if not all)of your questions have already been answered. Oftentimes the learning process is just as important as the answer itself. Just a humble suggestion.

Care to post a link?
Thank You
Hope this helps. Besides training, the forums contain information on nutrition, fat loss, etc.
Did this project fade into oblivion or did I just miss the latest update? If anyone could point my ADHD self in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly no one knows. I think it has or has been replaced by another project that they don’t want to make the same mistake with. I guess for now sift through this forum or get Thib’s book if you want the information on what he’s doing (as pessimistic as i sound about the program, Thib’s books are a worthy read). I hope I’m wrong and it hits today, but it’ll probably be another rehashing of old articles or alas another thorough break down of glute training.

Are you guys even reading these threads? While a program may not have been released publicly yet, there are people already using some of the products. If you are training right to start with, why would you need to wait on a program?

I’m really wanting to check out Anaconda, been waiting on that since before IBB.

I’ll be honest Professor X, sometimes I have a hard time finding information I’m looking for directly on this site. Sometimes the answers I’m looking for may be contained in threads that aren’t directly what I’m looking for so I may overlook them, but I did happen to stumble upon your post about Anaconda and I’m excited to hear more about the experience as it unfolds.
If there are direct thread links or a new thread that may have been started that I’m not aware of about I, Bodybuilder or Anaconda could you direct me to those if you get the chance?
Question to mods, can we get a forum search function? I can think of some other websites (which shall remain nameless) who have searches for the forums that help me find what I’m looking for. This generic “search” through the entire site never works for me unless I’m looking for an article or supplement, but not a thread or a post.

It’s the instant gratification mentality. Far be it for people to actually practice some of the techniques CT has been describing by themselves in the gym and see how they progress over a months time.
If IBB is truly a program that teaches technique and training methods, I have a feeling that the very people who are screaming for IBB to come out, may benefit the least from its release.

Just use google with site:tmuscle.com added at the end. Works great.

I’ve been saying that for months. From what I can tell, this is NOT for the types of people who can only think of things if they are literally mapped out from the ground up for them. This is for people who understand their own bodies a little better than that.
That means most of the people crying about where this program is are likely least ready to try anything like that.

I see what your saying Prof X, but people are just interested in seeing it after the whole ‘black ops’, ‘i gained XX lbs in 6 weeks’ etc ?
And now everyone is being fed lines such as ‘you won’t benefit unless you…’
After all the initial hype there now appears to be a caveat, and i think thats why people are asking questions.
You mean the caveat that people need to work harder than many are willing to get the results?

Exactly. It sounds like people were expecting something you take and instantly become huge…without all of those years of sweating and hard work.
I am guessing quite a few will be sorely disappointed that the goal here is to work EVEN HARDER.

not to dismiss what you’re saying, however with the marketing, it made it sound simple enough. Up to 27 lbs in 6 weeks, forget what the quoted figure was for the average person
