I don’t understand this pic.[/quote]
I posted a pic of an unknown guy with his shirt off because said unknown guy has been cast as one of the main villains in Thor. It was meant to illustrate the point that Marvel would not be casting actors who’d make the heroes look feeble in comparision (especially Cap and Thor, who are known for their physical prowess)…unless they intended to put the leads through at least some physical preparation.
It was partly a response to people saying that Chris Evans isn’t big enough.
Ok, just back from watching “The Losers” at the theater. I think Chris Evans can make it as Cappy. I was gonna put Evans on the Douche List with Paul Wanker and Tatum, but the guy’s got chops and was entertaining as hell in the movie.
His build and looks definitely seem fit for the comic relief/dork/bad ass role, sorta like Poncho in “Predator”. It will be interesting to see what he can do as the lead in as a more serious character.
I wonder how many comic book movie characters the Chris Evans can be?
On a separate matter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson will be the new Sgt. Bosco ‘B.A.’ Baracus in the up coming A-Team movie. Which is good news to me, since I thought they were still looking at Ice Cube to play B.A… The preview looks sweet.

What is with all the non-manly men getting super hero roles?? I can live with the tiny Bruce Banners, and the nerdy Peter Parkers because that is what the charater is. But Capt. America is a man, and a old school salty WWII ass kicking, red white and blue bleeding bad ass… This guy is johnny f’ing metro…

Stone Cold Steve Austin would probably be a better fit.

Physically, yes. As far personality…nope. Austin doesn’t have the acting range for it.

Not as many as Ryan Reynolds…he’ll be seen as Captain Excellent (whoever he is) before Hal Jordan. Seems as though they’re now having to skip the comic book part to keep up with him.

And you can’t be a super soldier with knee braces.

Don’t forget he is/was Deadpool too. No sure if Captain Excellent counts since thats just Jeff Daniels’ imaginary in that movie.
This get bumped as I just saw The Losers. I think Chris Evans will pull Cap off, physically. How do I figure? Just watch the infiltration scene (LA) where the dude is running, jumping, and climbing. If that was him doing all of that, then hell yeah he can play the role. If it was a stunt-double, then keep those two together for the Captain America movie. Just my two cents.
Edit: My bad I should have added this–The Daily Mail has snapped the first photographs of the Captain America: The First Avenger costume, which can be seen below.
The full costume was spotted on a stunt double for Chris Evans riding a US Army Indian motorcycle through the English countryside for a motorbike sequence involving a chase between Steve Rogers and agents of H.Y.D.R.A.
True to the original character, the costume comprised the colours of the American flag, complete with a huge star on the chest, helmet and cape.
