I don’t get it. A bunch of guys walking around half-naked video taping themselves.
that got really gay
I just found it neat that a basketball player uses hard/heavy weight training to enhance his athletic abilities. Alot of bball players neglect weight training. If you can get past the guy’s possible vanity you’d see him lifting some heavy shit.
lol
Hi all!
I’m Fred B, actually I’ve been a big fan of T-Nation for quite some time. Especially Chris Thibaudeau’s article. I loved the Canadian ascending-descending training for example.
Anyways it’s funny because today for the first time I checked the strength sports forum and I clicked on that “white men can jump” thread right away. What a suprise to see one of my vids here, honored!
So thanks for the cool comments. Even for the gayish hate line lol… By the way, think about it, is it really gay to workout like crazy under 100+ degrees with or with no shirt? hahah
As for vanity, well no one is perfect, but you don’t know why I did that vid in the first place. I’ll post the second part of it soon, where I do a hurdle vertical jump and fall on my back like a ton of bricks… lol But then again I took my shirt off and eventually did it afterwards, cause I’m crazy like that!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! that was a very funny video. But yea the right type of training will help your athletic abilitys.
I agree with this, I liked the vid for the same reasons.
that guys awesome
Yo Fred!
Long time no see
Is your standing Vertical Jump still at 36 inches or has it moved up? Got your 40 incher yet?
Perhaps Fred, you can tell us how your olympic-lifting has affected your basketball performance.
Cool vid Fred. Height and weight? the vid did get a little sketchy towards the end lol.
Good stuff, man.
I’m curious, what are your best lifts to date? How much were you benching in the max attempt?
I think we need to have a dunking contest between SquatDr, Digitalairair, and this guy!
Anyone care to put some money on it?

What’s up Col!! Nice to see you here. Well my vert has improved a couple of inches but I haven’t got 40 yet. Best mark is 38in.
Well I’ve used power snatch from the hang, jump squat and depth jumps. I got my PS to 100kg (220lbs) and my vertical jump got to 36in at 96kg bodyweight. It did helped my speed and first step too. But at that bodyweight and height, no matter how powerful you are, you won’t be as effective as a quick 175lbs player.
Thanks!
Well that bench was just like 375lbs. Now my max is 407lbs. Best deadlift is 550lbs. Power clean 308lbs and power snatch 242lbs.
I’m 30, 6ft 220lbs. By the way, I don’t play pro or semi-pro bball anymore, just for fun. I would have to drop like 40lbs to be effective on the court. It’s not the speed over 40yd or top vertical jump which are as good or even better then ever but you need to have that quickness, especially as a point guard.
Congrats with your training Fred, very impressive, looks like a nice spot to live as well.
Of course white men can jump just take a look at any oly lifter.
