Event/conditioning May 19th
Needed to change things up a bit work on some slightly different stuff more conditioning based I suppose as legs got that killer workout Tuesday and want to do that again something like it
1)DB snatch and Squat jumps
Snatch equal sets of 35, 60, 80, 110 slow, 80 x 3 x 3sets
Squat Jumps worked to bar, 95 , 135 x 3 x 6sets
I was about as explosive as a tee sloth today LOL dropped back to the 80 on snatches and worked on form and stayed at the 135 on the jumps these were ok been a while still slow today for some reason
1 arm Medely
Suit case carry 150, second 190
5 tire flips
OH carry 80 for both
Backward tire sled drag 105, second 140 both these loads are without the weight of the tire and wheel.
First medley 1min 51 secs.
Second 2 mins flat
Man these kicked my butt but were good that one arm and side was about SHOT after this the worst Id have to say is dragging that damn tire sled backward with 1 arm the rubber just grips and sticks on the concrete but this was good.
cable abs and burpies
Abs 2 sets
Burpies 2sets x 10
Good w/o some great strides in conditioning very happy with the tire.
Got one motor cycle about done the other one a street bike I think ill be riding for a bit in the works, built/welded my suitcase carry it?s a tri bar. Welded a fat bar DB, and some collars now making a chain yokecheers

Again damn fine work Matt and Modi

thanks Phil, the main problem is when the weights get around 300 I am not very stable. I dunno I used to be, maybe my traps are to big to hold the bar up high j/k. I need to learn how to hold the bar lower, I will research the proper setup today, any tips? If I was more comfortable and stable 350 wouldn’t be a problem I got the strength for it IMO.
Traps to big fuck wish I had that prob. Um tips yes do those walk outs and short partials. then if its a comfort thing. Just get used to the BIG ass loads well over your squat weight it will really help you get comfortable
Also find your bar placement it should really fall right on that shelf

haha I was joking about the traps, I meant more they are alot bigger than before so the bar feels diffrent…
what is low bar squating I always hear about? I’ve read some stuff but still a little confused.
I think I will do some heavy walk outs/knee bends once I get comfortable the weights will fly up.
Thanks
Modi, I definetly appreciate the kind words. It was truly a pleasure competeing with you and I look forward to doing it again.
And to everyone else, I really appreciate the help you’ve given me at various times whether it be about training, meet prep, or just giving me the motivation to dig deep and rip it up.
Having this thread essentially makes you all my lifting partners. Whether it’s seeing people lift and push through tough situations or just making me feel weak, you guys are on my mind most days when I before, during, and when I finish lifting. Even when I train in a chickenshit gym, I have you guys to compete with because I know that you’ll be giving your best even when I’m feeling my worst.
And I have to give props to Eric Cressey and Andy (username “Raw Power”) as well, especially in regards to meet prep.
This is where the music would start playing me off the stage if this were the oscars. ![]()
My final deadlift attempt, 523.5lbs.
And my youtube links to all of my other attempts.http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Matgic1
Any critique on form or anything else is of course, welcome, and appreciated.
Stay strong, boys.
-Matt
great job Matt and Modi
Hopefully, it works this time.

welkl the bar is just Not all the way up on top of your traps its down a bit really sits onm top of lats and shoulder there is a nice shelf there its just down an inch or two check out some of the PL articles and well just get a bar and start looking feeling for it.
High bar can still be good to train with but once you get the low bar nailed youll love it uses more of the whole body really in balance shifts the bar just that far to the center less starin on low back more ass and hams in the move
but still use the High bar or safety squat bar really forces you to get that upper back tight not fold over

Matt, just looked at your final deadlift attempt. My only comment…
“No cursing!” lol
Thank you to everyone for the great support leading up to this meet. I’m taking the whole day off before I go back to the grind again! Here is my attempt at a video compilation:
I dont know man, I think you had something left on that failed bench attempt. They did seem to grab that bar very quickly IMO. Nice work man.

Yea, I definetly think that you got your bench taken away too early on that last attempt.
And damn you for your superior video editing skills!

I have an Iranian friend who is an airplane buff and used to work in network security for FedEX. So one night he and his cousin drive out to the airport to watch some sort fo dual runway simultaneous landings. He had a transponder in his car and got that out to listen to the tower convos. Then he started photographing the jets landing…
Yeah… he was detained for a bit.

Best to get SOME type of PR a positive etc we cant pull load PR’s every week
