Weird, but impressive

I mean you lost me at front squats.

I know. I was simultaneously thinking of ways to break down the movement and train each phase separately just to avoid front squats.

I think top half front squats would work. You don’t see people drop into a full squat before jumping so why not just train the specific range of motion? Maybe push press with a more deliberate dip?

Now you are talking my language. I almost don’t suck at push presses.

A nice progression for choke slams would be to go to the playground and practice on a small child. Once he/she becomes too easy then grab a slightly larger child. Continue until you’re slamming their mothers and eventually the fathers.

You could totally write articles for this site.

Get your game together. There’s a 17 year old girl in Korea who front squats 210kg

Well, she obviously has mental problems.

No, she’s just built like a brick shithouse, and normally when people apply that saying to a girl she’s just a bit stocky and it’s an exaggeration, but this girl is an absolute unit.

How old is she - 22 with a training age of 20?

She’s 17 with a training age of 20 :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::rofl:

One that’s probably going to get heavier with a couple of Olympic medals

Criminy. I might crumple if I just had to hold 160 in the rack position.

I’m scared…guinea pig used flee

Shoulder day. Was kinda going to do push presses as an accessory, but kinda forgot somehow. Was fairly tired from yesterday, a combination of the workout, the sun and too much wine, so I probably didn’t have the energy for it anyway. As it was, I wasn’t sure I was going to get through the planned lifts.

  • Standing Barbell Shoulder Press (OHP)

    • 30 kg x 5 reps
    • 40 kg x 5 reps
    • 45 kg x 3 reps
    • 55 kg x 5 reps
    • 60 kg x 5 reps
    • 70 kg x 5 reps
    • 45 kg x 20 reps
    • 45 kg x 18 reps
    • 45 kg x 15 reps
  • Muscle-Up

    • 1 reps
    • 2 reps
    • 1 reps

This all felt pretty tough, but I concentrated on making the reps good, making sure to put my head through even on the 350 set. That said, even though I don’t track RPE, those last four sets all felt like 9s and 10s. Part of that is fatigue, but part of that is that I am very close the my ceiling. Might do one more week of this, but then I suspect I will have to change the approach a little.

I saw the video, it didn’t even look that hard for her

To be fair, her pants size is a bit bigger than mine.

To be fair, she’s probably using them there steroids or genetics or creatine or something. Definitely cheating somehow.

Apparently Asian bone structure is good for weightlifting

She’s Korean, not Chinese for god’s sake :joy:
