You cannot see it in the above, but I did a half version of the death set with the vest on…only 2 sets of 8 with an 8 second hold. Ouch. Even that was tough. Will see if I can work up to 3 sets without the vest next time…seems doable.
Nice day again, and sorta warmish. Would have ordinarily been shoulder day today, but it came to my attention that the local playground place has both some parallel bars and a bunch of bars to do pulls on. So, went there with my oldest and we worked out in the sun, shirts off and everything. Gonna have to do this at least once or twice a week. Being able to do dips is HUGE. The bars are a little farther apart than I like, but good enough. Will be easy enough to load them up later on with the vest and @simo74 ‘s backpack idea.

Also able to do some basic MUs for the first time in a long time. Not the best bars, and am totally out of practice.
Didn’t do jack yesterday. Was still having DOMS from both the dips/MUs and the Bulgarians from a few days ago. I feel pretty good that I can find ways to actually give myself DOMS with zero access to weights. Tomorrow will probably be another leg day, but might add something to it. If the weather permits, I might go back to that playground again and work there.
Today was just a bit of cardio, a semi homo-erotic slapdance with my pal Bob.
Did legs today, and mixed in some PUs. Everything sans the vest this time around, just because. Oh, and logged one number for both sides, so as not to make it look needlessly long. Probably need to switch it up next time, a bunch more weight and a bunch fewer reps.

Also, I got a line today on some used adjustable (spinner style) DBs, 16kg each, so I am going to drive an hour just to go pick them up. It looks like I might be able to buy and add a bunch of 10kg plates to them, to make them adjustable up to 36kg each. I can do a lot with 36kg adjustable DBs. Will have to take a look at them first to see if that wil be possible. Worst case is I get a couple of relatively (in pandemic times) cheap DBs that are stuck at 16kg, which I can also put to pretty good use.
At this point, it is less of a “home gym”, and more just a way to have something moderately heavy to lift during the pandemic, and whatever future waves of this come. I already know I will be staying home for at least the next couple of months, and only an insane person would say that opening up a commercial gym is safe…there is probably no better place than a gym to spread germs. I am doing well with the bodyweight stuff, but I need to have more options. I think the DBs will do that nicely.
Anyway, I went and picked them up. They are nice and solid, think I got a good price per kilo. And I figured out that I should be able to smack on a bunch of 10kg plates, and get the total weight up to at least 32kg each…so I ordered some. Hoping the delivery time isn’t going to be crazy, it is almost impossible to find these things.
Have some decent little butt DOMS, so the Bulgarians are working nicely. Will be fun to try to put some weight on them next time.
Speaking of weights, had to break in the DBs today. Can only go max 16kg when I am using them both, which is why everything looks so uniform. Did a bit of pushing, just to get back in the swing of it a little.

16 kilo isn’t enough for the floor presses, but they are actually pretty okay for the shoulder press, just so long as the reps are high. Will be good to get the shipment of extra plates, hopefully it will be sometime this month.
Yeah, was actually thinking of alternating reps…do a fly, do a push, do a fly, etc. Just have to get used to moving DBs again. On the other hand, if get the other plates soon, I will be able to go up to 34kg. I think I can make do with that. For lots of stuff.
