Weird, but impressive

Okay, sorta did my sorry leg workout today. I won’t even spell it out, it is just a bunch of slow ass air squats, bunch of lunges all around the house, etc. It does get my legs nice and wobbly, which I feel is all I can ask for. I need to find something to hit the glutes a bit harder maybe.

Left the house only long enough to walk over to my ex’s to help move a fridge and freezer around. Will have to head out tomorrow and do a bit of shopping, hopefully I won’t have to stab anyone in the brain.

You say this quite often. I’m starting to wonder if you’re secretly looking forward to it.

I had an idea a minute ago for doing single leg hip thrusts/glute bridges/whatever you want to call them using Ellington Dardens 30-10-30 rep scheme. One 30 second rep, 10 normal speed reps, one more 30 second rep. Feel free to steal my awful idea before I give it a try.

Edit: it was a fairly bad idea.

That sounds bad just like the Bulgarian split squat drop set of death. @Cyrrex, it still sucks with just body weight.

It, unfortunately, wasn’t. I actually found it probably easier than a controlled set of 20 because on the controlled sets, I tend to really hit a good squeeze and pause at peak contraction, which I didn’t do here. The split squats 30-10-30 are on my todo list though.

It’s like you guys must hate me or something. That looks awful.

Day C+23? Damn.

Had to go out and about a bit today. Had one package to pickup, one to drop off a totally different place, and then a trip to the market for the necessities (snacks, beer, wine, you know, the important stuff). All that was fine, did it kinda early so there weren’t too many people.

But then later I had a Home Entertainment Emergency. HDMI cable broke, and not of the others I had were long enough to replace it. Had to go to the local hardware type store. Oh. My. God. I realize the irony of what I am saying, because I should also be staying home…but there were a goddamn lot of people. More than what you would see on a regular Saturday. At a fucking hardware store. We are all doomed.

Anyway, smacked Bob around for a good 25 minutes or so, was a good session. And here is a 15 second Total Core workout:

When you’re told to stay home you start thinking of all the projects you’ve been ignoring. I’ve resisted the urge to go to Home Depot, but I definitely have some outdoor work that needs my attention.

Good work man.

Too tired for wit, so you’ll have to make do with sincerity I’m afraid

My wife had to go to the shop yesterday and said the same thing here. Now getting worried it will mean a full lock down is coming.

Sydney and Melbourne I wouldn’t be surprised. Here in Canberra I think we have a way to go before that happens, if at all.

How’s the testing abilities over there? We weren’t ready so that meant a lot of cases went unconfirmed early on. Our number of cases has exploded in the past couple weeks but I think it’s due to more tests being done. The virus isn’t spreading at that rate; we’re just finally revealing what’s there.

In Canberra, we’re doing ok. We’ve tested a bit over one per cent of the population and apparently we have now tested pretty much everyone who has been overseas recently or who was a close contact. Our health ministry announced we will move to randomised testing now to get a better picture of how it is spread in the community

I am so thankful for how lucky we have been thus far. We’re still under 100 cases, and I think only 18 have been hospitalised since the beginning of this. The territory government also announced thay they are now building a field hospital in case things get worse.

That was exactly what was going on. People buying stuff for their little projects, their garden, etc. I mean, I get it. But it was a bit of cold water to the face to see so many people that cars were blocking the exits from lack of parking and people trying to get in and out.

Morning weight 78.2 and sloooowly trending down. BP 119/72 and HR measured at 52 beats at the same time. Probably going to do a shoulder/pullup day today if I muster the energy.

Day C+24

Pretty nice day here in DK. Sun is out, temperature almost bearable.

Did shoulders and pulls as planned. Bit of a different rep scheme, but I like doing this kind of thing…every set seems a bit harder than the one before, even when going down the ladder. True for the HSPUs at least, a little less so for the pull-ups. All of this alternating.

It offends me you did no singles

You know, it kinda offends me as well. I hurts my eyes both because the number one is missing, and also because it makes for only 18 sets instead of 20, which is just super lame.

But I couldn’t bring myself to do it. A single of either of this is a literal waste of time.

That’s what I said to myself before leaving the house when I lived in Munich and it was Oktoberfest season. Pretty similar experience to a zombie apocalypse I imagine.

I mean, you’re right, but I’d still do it anyway.

Am I going to just have to do 4 singles to make the numbers nice and round for you?

Maybe next time.
